[HSI] When is the Fond Du Lac WI area making the switch to 60 mbps???I actually live in Brillion but our system comes out of Fond Du Lac. I have not called or asked anyone, just wondering if anyone has heard anything or already has been bumped up. I still am running at 30 mbps. We already have gotten the digital tv upgrade and they rolled out the Charter Spectrum name recently, so when is 60 mbps coming?? |

Here, took about 2 months from the digital switch to 60Mbps upgrade. |

You should be 60mbps. I'm in Wisconsin and shortly after we went all digital, we were 60mbps. Of course, our area and Madison were one of the first areas to go. Go to speedtest.charter.com and use that speedtest. Try it on your wifi and then hook your computer directly into the modem and bypass your router all together and run your speedtest again. You should be getting right around 65mbps. |

Brillion is fed from a hub in new holstein. Then transferred to fon du lac. If you are not seeing 60mbps dl you should see it in less than a month. The cmts upgrade has been done already, they just have to deploy 16 downstream channels. If not done already.
I'm also assuming you have power cycled your modem to trigger the new provisioning speed. |

still running at 30 mbps.......I've power cycled numerous times with no change |

Then just hang on... I would think its only a couple weeks away. Unfortunetly HSD group is in charge of delpoying this. Pretty much as secretive as the cia. |

I've had 60 since the channel switch in May in Sheboygan...you might want to check if you have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, which is required to get the higher speeds; DOCSIS 2.0 customers can't get it because it's not supported. |

just got a brand new cisco 3.0 modem 3 weeks ago because I saw mine was way out of date and I figured I'd better upgrade because of the speed increase......I still had an old motorola 1.0 modem......still running at 30 mbps. |

Now that it's been nearly a month and a half, have you found the time to give them a call? |

I realize that a 60mbps upgrade is available and everyone automatically wants it, but what specifically can one do with 60 that they can't do with 30? most servers don't even support a full 30 let alone 60. |

Try calling Charter. I've heard that if you're on an old plan, you won't get automatically upgraded to 60 megs. I was told this from a technician. I don't feel like paying another $10 a month so I'm sticking with 30 megs. |
|
|
so are you saying that 60 megs is $10 extra???? then I'm staying at 30 also which for my needs is plenty. |

I finally called chater today. They checked everything out and agreed that I was still running at 30 down and 3 up. So the really nice woman that I was talking to remotely went into my modem and added all new software and updated it to current specs. Success!!!! Now I am running at a cool 66 down and 5 up. So I guess you are right if you have an old account you don't get updated unless you call in and ask. I'm glad I did. |
|
|
Yeah, that's why I asked, I figured in a month and a half curiosity would have gotten to you and you would have called. Congrats on the upgrade! |
