[Modem/Router] Rogers Internet is not working, but modem is online.Basically some time during the night while I was sleeping, the internet stops working even though my Rogers modem lights are all solid. It will only start working again only after I wake up in the morning and take the power out and plug it back in. At 10:40:17AM I rebooted my Rogers modem (NOT THE ROUTER) and the internet starts working fine again. I called Rogers tech support before I rebooted the modem and they told me the modem looked down from their end. The Rogers modem I have right now is this one » www.rogers.com/cms/page- ··· odem.pngDoes anyone know why this issue is happening, this never happened for the the last few months I've had this modem, it happened once last week, and this week this it's happened more than two times. The logs are from my ASUS RT-N66U which is bridged with the modem.. You should remove your IP from the log.
I have the same modem, but, never had these issues.
Which firmware on the modem do you have? |

It was the latest version last time I checked a week ago.
Is there a way to login to the modem without unbridging my router? |

That means stock Asus firmware? (To be honest with you, i am not sure if you can do it with that firmware). You can try connecting to: » 192.168.100.1I have R7000 with DD-WRT and the same modem. |

i would try changing ethernet ports on the back of the modem and the cable, if that doesn't resolve it I would simply exchange the modem at any Rogers store for a new one.
if it still doesn't work then it's likely the router (software or hardware).
might also be good to connect to the modem (192.168.100.1) as indicated even in bridge mode and look at the stats or the even log and see if anything shows up when it dies. |

Not sure how to log in to modem with stock Asus firmware.
Never really used it on my Asus's router. |

if you're going through the router you need to setup an interface or route on the same subnet. easiest way is to connect directly. |

Here is how to log into the CGN3 when its in bridge mode: » communityforums.rogers.c ··· 9#M18009Have a look at the post by dcowan38. When you can, log into the CGN3, navigate to the DOCSIS WAN page and copy and paste in the Downstream and Upstream data into this thread. Don't copy the IP address and other data that sits above the Downstream table, just the Downstream and Upstream tables. |

I've been having this exact problem on Rogers with my ASUS RT-N66U, where it says "ISP's DHCP Did not function properly." Exchanged modems, same problem. Cloned MAC address from a PC, the problem still sticks. It has come to a point where I have to reboot the modem once every night. I'm also hoping that someone can shed some light on this, |

Your going from a CGN2 or 3 in Bridge mode to the RT-N66U? |

if you're not losing sync it sounds more like a router issue. it also doesn't do much until you can post some modem logs showing if there's any events when you can't renew your DHCP lease. |

"Oct 13 10:40:36 WAN Connection: ISP's DHCP did not function properly."
Only time that happens to me is when I remove the power from the modem (Doing hard reboot on the modem). |

I suspect that if you simply disconnect your router from your modem for 15 minutes the problem will also be fixed. Did you try my suggestion above? |

This is 100% the router, not the modem, unless it's a cgn3 with the oldest possible firmware installed. |

Hey guys. I swapped my modem 2 days ago to the Hitron CGN2 since it's free with the plan I have right now, and I no longer have the issue. |
