Someone correct me if I am wrong. Nope, you are correct, but only kind of. Basically, if a game starts with an odd number of players (C9 or F11) doing a No Lynch essentially allows Mafia a statical advantage. Let's say that the town decide to No Lynch Day 1, but lynch every day from then on and scum also kills every night. Day 2: 6 town, 2 scum. (25% chance of hitting scum) Day 3: 4 town, 2 scum. (33% chance of hitting scum) Now let's say town lynch Day 1 and scum also kills every night: Day 2: 5 town, 2 scum. (28.5% chance of hitting scum) Day 3: 3 town, 2 scum. (40% chance of hitting scum) As you can see, numbers wise, it is better to always Day 1 lynch in a C9/F11. You run the risk of possibly hitting a power role as it will likely be random but even so you still have a better statically chance of winning when it comes down to end game. |

Obviously this doesn't take in account every variable that you could have in a game like this, be it doctor saves, a good cop investigation, hitting scum on any of the days, etc. The thing is however, regardless of what you do Day 3 is lynch or lose with two scum still being alive at that point. Therefore, you should take the option that gives the better chance of getting scum, even if it is at random.
At least, that is the way I would look at it. If your game has an even number of players or is a crazy game then you should consider No Lynch.
This game however does not meet either exception. And I would suspect anyone that supports a Day 1 No Lynch to be scum.
So with that in mind:

I google day 1 nolynch and my exact question came up from a year and a half ago where it was shown as bad for town. I'm bad and should feel bad. |

Not really. This is the first C9/F11 I've seen in a good long while. It is easy to forget the optimal way of doing things when most games I've seen recently have been Crazy or Semi-Crazy games. I mean, you could probably make a valid argument IF you knew 100% that there were power roles in the game and that you would 100% lynch one of said power roles. But there just is no way to know for sure in either case and the chance of randomly lynching a power role (assuming there were power roles 100%) would be AT WORST equal to lynching scum ~33% of the time (unlikely at ~22%) and actually less likely than hitting scum ~66% of the time (at ~11%). Basically there is no real way you can make it a valid argument in this format. But it happens, like I said this is the first C9/F11 I've seen in a long time. |

said by f0rtys3ven:Way to say we can count El Q politely!! LOL It's also a matter of getting a proper system in place as this is my first game. I'm sure I'll be a little more easy on this next go around. Also, I'm at home today so it makes this pretty easy. I see (x new replies) on the tab, and I update the vote count. EQ |
