Re: 100 Mbit bonded now being offered (100 megs down/20 megs up)Just got 100 installed today. I am pretty satisfied with the speed though I bridged the T2200 to my Asus N16. And this speed is via ethernet. I max out around 50Mbps on WiFi though which means I am going to have to upgrade the router and the wireless cards in the computers. |

Happy with the 10mbps bump myself! |

Do you know if the QoS issue has been sorted? I've noticed I usually get around 87-92 down and 28 up. I was hoping to get the full 100 down.
Please let me know. Cheers! |

It appears so. Bonded test: |

Hello,
I've had this service for a little while now and I was hoping it'd speed up a bit when that QoS update was pushed out by TELUS. Ever since I've had it I've been unable to get to 90Mbps down on any speed test. I generally max out around 85Mbps down and 25Mbps (sometimes 27Mbps).
Is there anything that can be done? I see a lot of users on this thread between 94-105Mbps; is that unrealistic? |

In the Actiontec T2200H will be your line stats(sync/attainable). If one of the line pairs have degraded, you lose speed from the total. Each pair will show it's sync rate(DSL-1, DSL-2) Reboot also, but I'm sure you have. |

Yes it's bonded copper. I have restarted the modem a couple times.
I get:
Downstream Rate: 98506Kbps Upstream Rate: 35832Kbps
Line 1: Line Rate: 46116 Kbps 17504 Kbps Attainable Line Rate: 55433 Kbps 25319 Kbps
Line 2: Line Rate: 52390 Kbps 18328 Kbps Attainable Line Rate: 67289 Kbps 34248 Kbps
Does this look right? |

Should I call TELUS and ask them to send out a tech? |

said by MrBlack:Should I call TELUS and ask them to send out a tech? Not likely anything to be done. You can call tech support to have them double check the line stats on their end, but it's likely working exactly as it should given your line quality. The cables from the VDSL cabinet to your home are probably just longer than needed for full 100Mbit speeds so they cannot reach the peak speeds possible. Unless they change your neighbourhood to fibre or you move a few houses closer then it's just the way it is. The only reason to call them out is if the line had stability issues they might be able to tweak settings to make it a bit slower but more stable. |

I had to fight to get the service installed, they said I didnt qualify yet I live maybe 1000~1200m from main CO in millwoods. Maybe 1970's copper? Unless they push fibre to the closest cabinet which would chop about 600m or so of copper, I think this is just what I'm gonna have to live with on Telus. |

Hi all,
had 50/10 from TELUS and real world numbers were 55/16 ping ~3ms to closest server, ~25ms to vancouver.voip.ms server.
I am on GPON.
Asked TELUS to switch me to 100/20, but the speed I was getting was anywhere between 80-95Mbps down and 15-18Mbps up. I was very surprised that it was that "bad". Decided to go back to 50/10.
Anybody had the same happening? I was expecting more like 110/25 real world, judging by how it was on 50/10. To bad, would have loved the double upload but it seemed not worth it for same or slightly more upload speed.

Sounds like QOS. |

said by jtl999:Sounds like QOS. I did tell the Tech, that this was the case, but he said, he checked, and than referred to the policy, that the speed is within the proper package parameter ... IMHO, its just the QoS. May not have been provisioned properly, or who knows. I hope, that by switching back to 50/10, I do not get 5-10% less than advertised ... Cheers. |

What is the point of a higher speed when the cap is only 100gigs more then the 50 meg plan? at a pathetic 500 gigs one is better off getting the 15 meg plan with unlimited for 15$ more if you are buying telus's over priced services like telephone and TV anyway. I am not impressed at all with Telus's offerings compared to many other ISPs around the world, heck even Rogers has better offerings then Telus now, FREAKING ROGERS...... |

You assume we get charged for going over, lolz. It's alright. Most people get scared by the "caps" when it's never enforced. |

It is going to be enforced. Some areas in BC are already being enforced and all Telus home internet accounts will be enforced by July of this year. » www.telus.com/en/ab/get- ··· pport.do |

As an update it does seem there is a wiring issue. I had a tech come out today to troubleshoot my lines. I'm less than 100m from the DSLAM and he has tested the lines coming in. Even changed the lines coming from the DSLAM to our building for my lines and they didn't improve. He checked all unit cabling.
From my understanding there is a main telecom room in our condo, a secondary one and then one on my floor. He suspects it is either the ports (the individuals he was speaking too were unwilling to switch the ports at the DSLAM at this juncture) or the cabling from where the cabling enters the building and gets to my unit.
So for now TELUS is sending a cabling team to check the wiring from the main telecom room to the secondary and floor rooms to ensure they aren't causing an issue. He tested speeds where they come into the building and each pair pushes over 60Mbps. Though he did not test them bonded.
Will keep you guys updated. |

I recently got the bonded 50/10 package. I thought I would be able to get 100/20 as I'm less than 500m from the DSLAM. I'v enoticed that my negotiated mode is 8B, not 17A. Is that a limitation of the DSLAM perhaps, or is that automatically determined and that's as good as I can get? Is there any way of me finding out? |

I have FTTH - my house was built in 2015. But I am still capped at 50mbps. Is there anything I can do to get higher speeds? It seems crazy to me that Telus launched 100mbps on copper 2 years ago... meanwhile I FTTH and I can't get 100mbps in 2016. Honestly... I'd go all the way to 150 if I could. |

When I got fiber going I was capped at 50 as well. I was told by the tech that came to my house that although my side was good for 100+ some equipment needed to be changed elsewhere to enable gpon (required by telus for 100+). |

Yes, I have 100 and 150 is available to me. In my case it only took a couple months and gpon was up and running. |

I'm scheduled to get internet 50, bonded, later this week. Have the latency issues been ironed out? |
