Apple Pay

OK I got this nifty iPhone 6+ all set up for Apple Pay and want to try it out. I thought I'd grab a bite on the way home from either Subway or McDonalds.
Has anyone in Chitown used Apple Pay at either of these franchises yesterday or today? How was your experience?
Which one would be less likely to give me a "deer in the headlights" stare when I try to make a contactless transaction?
Thanks,
J

IDK about apple pay, but I've used contactless with Google Wallet (same thing but for android phones) at MCD and CVS and it's always worked OK.

Subway did not have an NFD reader in spite of being a new store.
McDonalds went flawlessly, just as expected.

Update: Some Jewel stores are being remodeled - afterwards, they get the contactless one too but there's no symbol or anything. If the PIN pad has a large color LCD, just tap the phone to the display and it *should* work (worked at a Osco in the northern suburbs)

Saw on the news this morning that some people were being double charged on apple pay. Software glitch or something. Just FYI. Check your account.

Yes I saw that.
CurrentC is a klunky alternative.
Big box stores attempt at eliminating the CC fees.

I have no problem reducing fees if it results in lower prices but I know it will just increase profits for the stores.

So basically companies want me to download a separate app for each store I shop at? Yeah. That aint happening.

Yea. Like Re/code said "You can't make this stuff up".
I read CurrentC's blog post earlier and thought to myself "stored securely in the cloud?". What an Oxymoron that is.
