CWU not sending CID when used as a VG on Obi

I have an Obi110 - so only 2 SP configurable, but I am able to use a few more via the Voice Gateway feature.
The problem I noticed is that CID is sent properly with CC and Circlenet, but not with CWU (missing).

From an Obi perspective, the VGs are configured the same way and I DO get CID sent properly when I use CWU as a SP on my mobile (not using SIP invites like VGs do).

I know I need to take this up with CWU, but I was hoping to bounce some ideas by the gurus here.

I believe I had the same issue. I used obi VG and set the callerid in "VoIP Account Settings" in CWU and the CID didn't show. It wasn't a big deal to me so I didn't look for a solution. Now that you mentioned it, it'd be interesting for me to know if there's a solution to this.

Add the outgoing CID you want displayed to "ADD CALLER ID" page.

This setting overwrites all per-VOIP account settings.

Works for me and I'm using CWU as a VG on my OBi.

In addition to the "ADD CALLER ID" page on your CWS web page, they have a place where you can set Caller ID for your specific account on "VoIP Accounts" page. If you have multiple accounts, you can set different caller id's for different accounts.

CWS has a Caller ID FAQ

Strange, I did set the callerID in "VoIP accounts" page and it didn't work, when I get a chance I'll try the "ADD CALLER ID" page...

I already have it set up that way. ALSO...it is set up properly per account (which would be overwritten by the global setting anyways).

- CALLERID LIST -
CALLERID ACTIVATED ACTION
161xxxxxxxx t Edit this CallerID Delete this CallerID
161xxxxxxxx f Edit this CallerID Delete this CallerID

You also missed the fact that CID is sent properly when I use a SP and not a VG.
Waiting for CWU to respond...will report back here.

I managed to fix it by un-checking X_InsertRemotePartyID.

Despite not looking directly related (according to the FAQ), it worked and does not seem to affect my other 4 VGs.

From FAQ (thanks for pointing me in that direction hwittenb):

Q. I set caller id number in VoIP account settings, but called party see my CWU username instead of the number.
A. If you have Linksys/Sipura ATA, then set in Admin/Advanced/Line X tab "SIP Remote-Party-ID" to "no". For OBi devices uncheck "X_InsertRemotePartyID" in ITSP profile X/SIP

I found the email in the same folder with the tempting Viagra offers
Definitely know your email follow-up has been outstanding so far...one thing I always appreciated about CWU.

Does my "workaround" make any sense now that I posted it here? I'll reply with a call example offline.

Mystery solved (thanks to the quick traces by CWU):

1. WITH X_InsertRemotePartyID ON (Obi default)

Remote-Party-ID: "ZZZZZZZZ"
;party=calling;privacy=full

2. With X_InsertRemotePartyID OFF (changed) - NO RPID sent, therefore no privacy indication.

Now if I can only figure out where did I set (or Obi did) the privacy level - and why the other providers didn't care.
