Netflix has been pretty bad for me tonight and yesterday night. First, I thought it was WiFi congestion (chromecast) but then when I switched to PS3 (wired), same issues prevailed. Did not see any Netflix issues mentioned on Twitter, so I'm wondering if it's the stuff being talked about in this thread. |

Are you on R cable? Mine was fine around 8 pm last night slowed again for a few minutes then stayed okay through the rest of the evening. |

anyone else getting ping fluctuations tonight?
I was playing counter strike and the ping was wildly jumping from 50 up to 150.
I was rubber-banding all over the place in game.
I did a pingtest and it is showing at minimum a 20ms jitter on the connection.
I should add that speedtest is giving me 25 down / 2 up which is my perfect speed...ping is just all over the place |

thanks for the link...didn't know they had this. I was always getting all the info manually
I have had an ongoing thread in the direct forum for a few months...was just posting here as well to see if anyone was having similar issues. |

I recommend reading the last couple of days of posts on this thread. Marc chimed in with an estimated ETA and there is some talks on this thread with what exactly is causing this issue.
Regards,
Andre It's not like I mentioned my slowdowns happen outside of regular congestion hours or anything. Turns out the issue is actually with the power levels. |

New 10gig link has been turned up with 10gig of CBB increase. This should solve all related issues.
There is another one coming at the end of the month as well. |

@Marc it's better, but not anywhere near satisfactory. For gaming, the 2nd and 3rd hop must be around ~10ms. Otherwise the latency spikes will get you killed.

If you're getting 250ms to the CMTS, and 100ms+ within Teksavvy's network, you might want to check your signals, there is probably something else wrong. Also doing a traceroute to diablo3.com is somewhat useless, as the game servers are different than their web servers. For a bit more accurate path to the game check out » us.battle.net/support/en ··· aceroute |

There are no capacity issues anywhere other than with them.
We have lots of capacity on DSL, plenty on the way too. |

I'm still having issues. Fine up until peak, now streams are being really choppy.
Also, webpages are being unbearably slow to load. |

I'm jumping in on this thread.
Every day for the last week my connection becomes completely unusable between 6:30am and 8:00am and then again at some point between 8pm and 10pm for about 20 minutes.
I'd tell you how slow the speed is... but the connection is dropping so many packets I can't actually run a speed test... they error out.
There's a tech coming out Saturday because my signals are "out of whack"
Forward Path: Channel Frequency Power SNR BER Modulation 1 657.0 MHz -5.6 dBmV 37.1 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM 2 615.0 MHz -5.1 dBmV 37.9 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM 3 621.0 MHz -5.5 dBmV 38.3 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM 4 633.0 MHz -5.8 dBmV 38.0 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM 5 639.0 MHz -5.9 dBmV 37.5 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM 6 645.0 MHz -5.7 dBmV 37.4 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM 7 651.0 MHz -6.0 dBmV 36.8 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM 8 663.0 MHz -5.9 dBmV 36.7 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM Return Path: Channel ID Frequency Power Modulation 3 23.7 MHz 27.0 dBmV 64 QAM 1 38.6 MHz 28.5 dBmV 64 QAM 2 30.6 MHz 28.0 dBmV 64 QAM 0 0.0 MHz 17.3 dBmV QPSK
I'm not sure I buy in to the signals being the cause... |

Edited..
I missed that you already have a dispatch for your signal issue. This is a very common cause of slow speeds.
the specifications are: Modem Rx Power: range of -10 dBmV to +10 dBmV Modem SNR: greater than or equal to +25 dB Modem Tx Power: +35 dBmV to +51 dBmV.
If the signal isn't loud enough, the other device won't be hearing whats being transmitted, if it can't hear it it drops the packet. |
|
|
Is it possible that the low signal would cause the slowness only during peak periods?
As a side note. My speeds were perfect this morning for the first time in a long time. |
