I recently picked this up on Friday, it really is a fantastic game. It came with the first one as well (which I didn't play a lot of). I'm currently in the process of going through the first one before I continue with the second one. I made it about 3 chapters into the second one before going to the first game, really great. Plus I like being able to use the Wii U screen to play the game while watching Netflix on the TV.
I would recommend it if you enjoyed the first. |

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure if it's important to play the first one. But Bayonetta 2 did come with the first one, so it's worth a play through. They made an Anime movie (if you're into Anime) based off the first Bayonetta game which gives a bit more back story (main reason I'm playing the first game).
I really like the combat in it, I was also a big fan of the Devil May Cry series. Since this is similar to the DMC series, I find it does a good job with the game play / different combo's / and just generally killing things.
The bosses are huge, the game play is really fun, and they added an online co-op mode (not sure if couch co-op is an option). Personally I think it's a fun game (although I'm not too far into it, ArcheAge has a lot of my time). If you liked the Devil May Cry series, or just like fighting huge bosses, and shooting / cutting things, it's a really great game.
Also since Bayonetta 2 came with Bayonetta 1, they added Nintendo costumes to it as well. You can choose Princess Peach Costume, Luigi's girlfriends costume (can't remember her name), Link's outfit, and Samus Arans power suit.
I haven't tried the two Mario based costumes, but the link outfit you can use the shield to block some attacks, and with the power suit, you get to use the blaster so that's neat (no charge attack or morph ball).
Also you can use the Wii U Screen as touch screen controls for the game (attack, dodge) it's interesting that's for sure. |
