new iph8005

This new dvr has a 500 gb hardrive and was wondering if I can replace it with a 1 Tb or 2Tb drive for more storage. Any replies will be appreciated.

I can't find any specs on the drive other than 2.5 500 gb.

Thanks

It can be replaced with a 1TB drive, thats the largest drive the system can use. It will detect a 2TB but will format it so only 1TB is useable.

it must be a full size desktop hard drive. Lap drop drives won't fit.

The IPH8005 doesn't use 3.5 inch drives, it uses 2.5 laptop sized drives.

oh wow haven't seen those. Try a 2TB and see if it allows over 300 hours of HD recording. Interested to know.

Do you know if it needs specific specs or any laptop 2.5 will work. And have you tried a 2 TB with any results?
