If you have a test PC that you can restore from a backup you may want to try it. If you don’t have a backups don’t even think about it for PCs that you need and can’t afford to reinstall Windows.

I think the new look is ugly as heck. I much prefer the old user interface.

It's very nice, like Windows 8 without the overly bright, mixed colors of Modern/Metro. Nice, tasteful job on the UI.

Installed it on live system to take look but won't actually run cleaners.
Only got the option to add Google Chrome; it didn't show "also include Toolbar".
Thanks GoneFishing See Profile.

Looking forward to it. (so, sounds like it would be safe to run on a live system right now; no internal changes yet).

Since none of the internal changes have been made yet, it runs fine, but the interface is still ugly. No imagination or innovation was shown by the developers. They merely took the existing look and applied the ugliness to it. Sad.

I see a lot of negative comments at that site regarding the flat look.

It would seem the nice folks at Piriform have gotten slightly ahead of themselves with design - I would not like to see such drastic changes in software that I fequently use.

That goes to the current software maxim that applies to all things Windows - wait to see what others think and look first at all what's under the hood before your upgrade.

Well as they said, the under the hood changes have not been made yet and knowing Piriform, the changes are probably going to be something that we like. Just taking the old look (that I and many others can live with) and giving it the cartoonish looking look that 5.0 Beta has is counterproductive in my opinion. I noticed in the cookie section that the cookie list is now double spaced also. I use the cookie feature to save certain cookies of sites that I visit often.

Let's hope the final product meets what users want but keep in mind they can't simply bow to user demands and keep a UI on "old" ... one must try new things.

We'll see how it drops and meanwhile - keep your backups of the app at the ready.

NeoWin also has some screencaps of the anticipated Metro look - now in Beta.

Although I don't run the software - many that I support use it daily, I hope Piriform are able to move forward with design and function while keeping users happy as well.

With over a Billion downloads - I think that gives Piriform room to make their own design choices as long as it works as advertised, otherwise.

I can confirm that the final is very Windows Metro looking based on screen caps I've seen elsewhere.

I could probably live with it. As I've said elsewhere and among these threads - if Piriform, want that look in the UI, that's what you're gonna get. That or run with an older unsupported version.

Most are finding the new metro look disturbing but that's the way Piriform want it - you've got to accept the software as-is.

Most?

" Disturbing"?

to a minor UI change?

So now you are going to make fun of us ?

Some of us do NOT like the change. Is that not ok with you ? siljaline used the word disturbing. I think that his choice of words is correct. I do not consider it to be a "minor" change. The new flat look is cartoonish and I do not like it. Disturbing indeed.

The Metro look is not everyone's cup of tea. This has been hotly debated, far and wide.
I don't use the software - but of those that I support, that are at the current version, do not like the Metro look.
