[DSL] Open Port 3389 on router Smart rg SR505N

Hi all,
I'm trying to set up remote connections to my home computer.
So trying to open up port 3389 on my router.

I have tried -> Nat-> Virtual Servers and Nat->Port Triggering, using my computer's local address as the server IP

I'm not sure what DMZ host is, or what to even put there.

So far I've established that I can connect remotely within my home network to other computers on my home network - so something is definitely wrong with the port 3389 setup and not my remote connection settings on my computer

Does anybody know how to set up open ports on this particular router : Smart rg SR505N?

Did you add the RDP rule in the Windows Firewall?

You should seriously consider changing your default RDP port. There's a lot of brute force attacks on that default port.

Don't open 3389, use a port forward instead. Pick another port and than forward that in your router to 3389.

+1, you can pick any port on the WAN side to forward to 3389. Using 3389 on the outside is asking for trouble.
