[Firefox] Firefox has IPv6 lookups disabled. Why?

I went to »test-ipv6.com just to see what it would say, and it said that I had "Broken DNS AAAA Lookups".

In the possible causes, it listed the OS, the DNS server, and Firefox. They said to go to about:config in Firefox and check "network.dns.disableIPv6". So I checked, and it's set to true.

So, other than IPv6 isn't fully implemented yet, is there any reason why only Firefox disables IPv6 lookups?

That config option is set to "false" here. And it does not show as bold-faced type, so I think "false" is the default. I don't know what changed that setting for you.

Shows as false as the default on my system. Firefox 33.1.1

If the preference status is "user set" then you changed it somehow

Confirmed that it set to false here for me also. (FF 33.1.1) We do not have IPv6 service here yet anyway.

I've forgotten the details behind this but your ISP is not likely to have IPV6 enabled so enabling it can only cause issues. At least, it does you no good to have it on since you can't access IPV6. So don't worry about it.
