[Cable] Got Nightly Slowdowns and High Pings/Latency?Title pretty much self explanatory. Does anyone in Toronto (North York) have nightly slowdowns, and high pings/latency with Electronic Box? I've been waiting for months on Teksavvy to fix their problem but I've had enough. Time to start searching for other IISPs while Teksavvy attempts to find a fix. But first, I want to see whether Electronic Box has this problem as well. You can see how bad my/our/the problem is here: » Re: [Cable] Slow speeds |

The most vocal Ontario cable sub in this forum appears to be mugurd. Look up his posts and you'll get an indication of the situations he has encountered.
That said, they posted a note about an upcoming cable outage to increase capacity as well. |

However, it is entirely possible there is an issue between rogers and it's TPIAs or an issue with your connection etc, chances are you'll have to wait for a fix either way |

No, but considering there is at least 1 TPIA that does not show the same symptoms even on the same nodes, it shows that there is not an issue between Rogers and TPIAs. There may be some issues at the interconnect, but that's up to ElectronicBox or the TPIA in question to fix. Edit: Looks like this might have actually been addressed by ElectronicBox. » Upgrade 1ier Décembre 2014. |

They post those reports monthly. They are extremely transparent about that sort of thing. |

What this shows is that the interconnect with Rogers is 1000mbps and the peak demand they've seen all onth was 740mbps, therefore there is no lack of capacity at the interconnect. |

That's not a problem being solved, that's a problem being prevented. They raise capacity pretty much every month as a normal demand management process and they make sure there's always enough physical links available to accomodate many months worth of capacity increases. said by Anonymous88:Weird. Then obviously they have some other major issues with their network backhaul. The only "issues" that have been demonstrated lately resided well outside of Electronic Boxes network, on the internet backbone links. |

Although they're one of the few IISP's having issues like this, I'm not sure I'd attribute it to their network. Rather, their peers or choice of routing is likely the cause of any issues. They're likely hitting congestion through one or more of the routes to specific locations. Not really a backhaul network issue, but it may require some proactive adjustments. |

^^^^ Just to clarify... you aren't referring to ebox issues... correct? |

Maybe the available channels and b/w, but not the cable (Layer 1). This is an unsolved mystery |
