Yeah. Unfortunately Adobe, and others, now release "patches" etc on Patch Tues just to add to the "fun"

In defense of posts that pre-exist yours, I'm replying to this thread.
The internal update is not up. For those that can uncheck a few options, the link is as good as any. I can't wait for Adobe to put it on their FTP.

Those that don't want reader phoning home may disable AdobeARM from MSCONFIG.
And from the Reader App preferences panel.

Your choice to wait. I got the full 11.0.10 installer and updater, from the FTP site, before this thread was updated this morning.

FTP site = no tracking (except IP), no advertising and no crud.

Old school FTW.

Can't FTP servers track more than that like client software usage?

Yep. I've been doing it for 20 years and see no reason to change. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) just works and often more quickly than websites. For some reason FTP has fallen out of favor perhaps, as I said, because you can't track users as much. In the "old days" vendors linked to their FTP site for downloads.

FTP servers can probably determine what FTP client you're using but so what? Websites know what browser your using (unless you fake the User Agent string).

FTP = no cookies
FTP = no javascript
FTP = no cross-linking

FTP = file transfer pure and simple.
