I don;'t know if you're aware, but after buying, downloading, and installing Glow, it wouldn't install due to needing a 64 bit system which mine is not. I now have to try to cancel my order. I am very saddened. I love Topaz products. |

Yes, it is designed for 64-bit operating systems with a minimum of open GL2.1.
You can use Glow with a 32-bit editor as long as your O/S is 64-bit. |

If you use Windows7 and now have a problem using either Topaz Glow or Impression because a "For Security, Program will exit" pops up when you launch the plugin, it is because of a Microsoft update of yesterday (12/10/2014). The update causing the issue is KB3004394. The easiest way to currently solve the problem (until M$ fixes the issue since they are aware of it) is to uninstall that update. How to do it (if you don't know): Click Start, in search box type updates, select View installed updates, find KB3004394 in the list, select it, then click Uninstall. |

I ran into that issue with Impression but not Glow. As soon as I removed KB3004394 all was well again.
I also heard that update was causing problems with Windows Defender too. |

If the above effect is all that's needed, RedField's Fractalius does that for you for $40. And they are the originator's of this effect, I believe. » www.redfieldplugins.com/ ··· lius.htm |

I think it comes down to personal preference as I have both (Fractalius and Glow) and much prefer Glow.
Glow also works on both PCs and Macs whereas Fractalius only works on PCs. |

said by Kathy_9:Glow also works on both PCs and Macs whereas Fractalius only works on PCs. I have heard that Glow only works on 64 bit systems, so older OSs may not be compatible with it. I don't have either and find both interesting. May actually get one of them sometime soon. I have many "blah" images that could be transformed by software like these. |

True about 64-bit systems; also needs OpenGL2.1 minimum for your graphics card. I know you can get a free trial of Glow and I'm pretty sure Redfield and Akvis would offer a free trial also. Why not trial all three and see which suits you best. By the way, I enjoy your work and wouldn't consider it blah. |
