[Tech] Can a standard Ni-MH charger charge high capacity Ni-Mh batteries?I'm thinking of getting a Camelion BC-0688S charger as a standby charger, to charge my 2700 mAh NiMh batteries.
What has me confused is can this charger charge such high capacity batteries? The manual states as follows: Ni-MH 200mAh 10 Hrs Ni-MH 600mAh 10 Hrs Ni-MH 1800mAh 14 Hrs
Higher capacities are not mentioned in the manual. So, does this mean it cannot charge 2700 mAh batteries? Or, will it be able to? (Maybe take a little longer to charge)
Thanks, |

Re: Can a standard Ni-MH charger charge high capacity Ni-Mh batteries? It can charge higher capacities but it will take longer time. That's all the chart is trying to say: capacity - time. How much time is hard to tell, you'll have to test and see. |

I'll just buy it then. 2700mAh may take some 24 to 30 hours (I guess). |

be careful,
some chargers have safety timers built in so they don't charge forever, thus the timers are sometimes set based on the biggest MA, you may find the safety timer kicking in before a complete charge |
