promo period expiring soon.. what happens then?I received my latest statement today and my promotional period pricing is effective through 1/15/2015. As per the statement, I am saving $59.95/monthly.
I have the following Double Play:
Optimum Preferred Optimum Online (Ultra 50)
My question is what happens when the promotional period expires? Does my bill increase by $59.95? Am I eligible for a new promotion? This is all new to me as this is my first experience with Optimum. |

After your promo expires, your service will be billed at the prevailing rates.
You should call Cablevision and see about extending your existing promo or negotiating a new one. Living in a FiOS serviceable location will help.
Good luck...you'll need your best social engineering skills. |

Not true. Given the right situation (FiOS area) and some social engineering, it can be done. Might not be as good as the initial deal, but they'll give you something. |

Good luck with extending your existing or getting a new promotion. I also received a letter that my promotion will be ending in January and when I called they told me there is nothing they can offer me at this time and my bill was going to be what the current rates were. I live in a non-Fios area and I expressed my feelings about them not offering me any type of new promotion because they know I have no other choice but to use them, but their answer to me about who they give/extend promotions to has nothing to do with Fios availability. I will now be paying $207 a month for triple play with the preferred package with Multi-room DVR and no premium channels. I do have boost on the internet. To say the least, I'm not happy.... |

If you aren't happy, unfortunately your options are to downgrade or vote with your feet.
Cablevison mentioned that they'd be tightening up on the promos. They're bad for the bottom line, from a corporate standpoint... |

There is a secret that many subscribers do not know. When calling to extend a promotion - in my case it was the triple play - cry. You gotta do what you got to do. True story. |

And have a baby crying in the background as well. Use a recording if you do not have a baby. |

Or do what I did. I had the triple play and when my bill suddenly increased to an outrageous amount I disconnected the TV and phone service, just kept the Internet. 3 months later I was given the triple play promo again for 2 years. |

ya do what ozzny said cancel tv/phone.wait 3 months and get a new deal.personally i cancelled my tv/phone and never signed back up.its just to damn costly and cable vision keeps raising the rates. |

I think this is in their last financial statement. They are using current customers to cover the loss of former customers. They supposedly planning certain things for this year, to make more money. |

Im in the same boat. They gave me $5/month off, and free HBO and showtime and warned me that I'm grandfathered under the Ultra 101 pricing and it will be $50.00 more a month if I leave and try to come back.
So I'm leaving. . . . . waiting for FIOS to come as we speak. 75/75 speeds and all the same channels for $149/month, $60.00 cheaper than my current cable rates, AND a $400.00 visa gift card. |
