[Price] Chicago January 2015 price changesLatest bill has the price list. Surprisingly few changes in main packages. It's all in the fees this time (they are learning from the airlines!!)
Broadcast fee going from $1.50 to $3.25 DVR going from $8 to $10 DTA going from $1.99 to $2.99 New Regional Sports fee of $1 (I'd guess for everything other than Limited Basic?) Modem/gateway rental from $8 to $10 Blast! going up $2 ($65.95 w/ package or $78.95 standalone)
By raising the broadcast and sports fees, they didn't touch the package prices, so they can claim they didn't raise prices at all!! Personally, my best guess on a price change is DVR + DTA + Sports + Broadcast = 2 + 1 + 1 + 1.75 = $5.75. That about +3.4% on my bill, before percentage-based taxes which will also add a bit more. |

of course you can't opt out of the regional sports fee. |

Similar changes in my next bill. No changes to the packages, just the fees.
Broadcast TV fee from $1.50 to $3.00 DVR Service from $8 to $10 Additional Outlet with DVR from $17.95 to $19.95 DTA from $1.99 to $2.99 Blast is going up $2.00, but only if standalone internet. Modem going from $8.00 to $10.00 Bunch of other fees going up a few dollars.
Looks like my bill will be going up $8.50 plus tax, etc.
I saw something in there, not sure what it is: Voice/Data Modem DOCSIS 3.0 Kit (for purchase, one-time charge) $99.00 If they are saying I can buy my current modem for $99, that's a good deal. |

Re-scanned my bill nothing in there about a D3 kit for $99, maybe that just applies to your area. |

Incidentally looking at the bill again, I notice that with the HD Premiere service Anyroom DVR is included. I upgraded to that last year from HD preferred plus to stay in a promotion. No one informed me of that at the time, so I've been paying for two DTA boxes, when I didn't need too. Maybe my own fault for not looking into it further, still annoying! |

I got the rate increase letter in my current bill. But I was confused.
I got the notice that the gateway is being increased to $10.
However, under the pricing information for the triple play packages, it lists the following is included with HD Complete XF Triple Play Bundle (which I have):
Digital Premier The Movie Channel Anyroom DVR for Primary Outlet Additional Outlet service on up to 3 TVs HD Technology Fee Extreme 105 Internet wireless gateway Xfinity Voice unlimited
So why am I being charged for the gateway?
Well apparently I shouldn't have been and they are crediting me for all previous payments.
So if you have the Complete bundle check your rate sheet and see if it includes the gateway and if it does, make sure they don't charge you for it. |

Return the gateway and buy the same gateway branded Xfinity from bestbuy or Amazon. I have a best buy to buy the gateway and avoid the $10 rental fee. » www.bestbuy.com/site/xfi ··· =9082028 |

You evidently don't understand that on the HD Complete XF bundle, there IS no (extra) rental charge on the gateway (IOW, it comes "bundled" with that bundle)...so what WOULD be the point of him spending $200, to save ZERO monthly??? While YMMV in YOUR area, in most areas (including Zoder's & my area) I believe this is how CC does it on this particular bundle. And if I was going to purchase my own (EMTA), there is NO way I would spend $200 on any combo unit; would rather buy a current (non-gateway) EMTA, then use whatever router I preferred. Not to mention this place has the same unit for less than 1/2 the price from worstbuy: » stores.dontleaseyourmode ··· al-item/ |

I also have the DPC3939. I have it in bridge mode, and use my own router, but as long as I have the DPC, I'll think of it as a backup router in case mine dies. I hate paying what will be $10/month for it. I didn't mind $8 so much. |
