Is it worth buying Malwarebytes, or let it nag you?I want to support the developers, but not sure if background scanning and extra features, minus the trial nag screen is worth it for me? Poll Is it worth paying for Malwarebytes-or just deal with the nag screen with on demand scanning only? |

I only use the free version. I have a Win 7 machine that I once put the paid version on, with real-time protection, and it slowed my browsing to a crawl. That was a few years ago, however it was enough to turn me off from buying/trying it again. |

it's a matter of personal preference.. i don't use the malwarebytes program's realtime-protection, but a lot of people do use it.. |

Do you have some other non-microsoft real time protection? If so keep malwarebytes in free mode and use it as a 2nd opinion scan every once in a while.
Your poll choices leave many possibilities out, for one thing the free mode is NOT the same... there is no real time scanner in the free mode. |

I would certainly recommend it if your security needs the real-time protection. I had a family member get to a malicious web address from an e-mail responding to a Craigslist ad, it blocked the access to the malicious web site, while the resident antivirus didn't. I also use Spywareblaster and MVPS Hosts file for all my systems in addition to an internet security suite. |

I picked up a license for Malwarebytes Pro some where along the way, just to support them. It was on sale at the time, so it made the decision much easier. |

The free version removes malware but does not keep it from loading in the first place. The paid version keeps bad stuff from loading. |

Buy it to support the developers. It plays well with MS Essentials. No problems on my rig running WIN7Pro 64bit, including playing games. |

Been using MBAM Premium and MBAE Premium for some time. I think it's worth paying for Malwarebytes. |

Misleading title. There is no nag screen. you are asked if you want to trial(14 days) on first install, reinstall, or in product upgrade ie. new version, after that using the free version you won't see the trial notice again except as noted above. |

In my opinion, no, is not worth buying.
1.I had it installed on three different pc's along with NOD 32. For almost 2 years I never had a detection from MBAM before NOD 32 2.Website protection is in incipient stage, only 2 people from MBAM are working on their database; very often you get websites blocked based on strange criteria; check them on Virus Total and there is no other detection; on their forum 9 from 10 websites reported will end up "being unblocked on next update" 3. For some reason MBAM is somehow extremely buggy; every two-three weeks I get "website protection not enabled" or "no update" or " will not start with Windows" A reinstall would fix the issue , but two weeks later the same story...
So, I would say, no, is not worth buying. |

MBAM Pro with an AV is a great layered approach. I've used it for years and find the heuristics very good. Definitely worth it. |

Definitely to support the company that has for many years now provided one of the best free utilities for fixing malware, adware issues on peoples computers.
Most of my friends and family have all purchased having all benefited from it free version in the past (some on many more then one occasion, got to love them PEBKAC'S) |

said by avira:3. For some reason MBAM is somehow extremely buggy; every two-three weeks I get "website protection not enabled" or "no update" or " will not start with Windows" Sounds like issues they had with a much earlier version. The current version doesn't do that (on my machines, anyway)... |
