Re: Comcast's new 4k Compatible STB. Will VZ come out with one?

said by 46436203:

Actually, Time Warner Cable, Bright House, and even Charter (Charter! Seriously. How embarrassing is it when a third rate cable company like Charter is kicking your ass at something) carry more HD channels than Verizon. Charter pumps out 200+ HD channels over their coaxial cables and Verizon struggles to do less than 200 over fiber optics.

In the markets where Time Warner Cable competes with Verizon (New York, LA, Dallas), Time Warner offers the most HD channels, so it's not too surprising when most Verizon customers live in a market where Time Warner is the competitor and they see Time Warner's offerings beating Verizon's offerings that they start to feel annoyed towards Verizon.

Although true, FiOS HD quality is much better.

Not really. TWC and Verizon both put 3 HD channels per QAM for most channels. Verizon only has the advantage on sports channels, which are only 2 per QAM (for now), and of course on the H.264 channels.
