CFL - Tivo, Silicon Dust and Ceton Users Get Stocking Stuffer

Those of you who use these devices in CFL received an early Christmas gift as it relates to your content. Not going to get specific because I want to see how many of you actually figure it out

Well everything that was recorded since some time on the 17th is showing as 0x00 which is very helpful indeed.

You are referring to locals which was actually fixed several weeks ago. That isn't quite what I'm talking about.

I'll take your nickel but you gave two answers so I'll have to pass it back to you to pick one but you really need to test and come back and tell us what you found.

I'm anxiously waiting for that first "holy ^^^t yippee" answer....so far all I'm seeing is ho hum....sigh.

Well it means that I can offload some of the 200 episodes of "How It's Made" (my son) and 129 episodes of "The Waltons" (my daughter) and a bunch of episodes of "The Property Brothers" (my wife) and make more room for the English Premier League soccer (me).

This is very welcome news as I was up to 94% full on a 450 hour drive last week.

Thanks a lot!

Indeed it does Not sure how this will apply to previously recorded content however so you better check first

Actually, I think this will only work with content going forward but it is a significant piece of news so I am very happy about it. I don't think the re-runs of "The Waltons" will ever end so I can delete the old ones and wait for them to come round again. I originally limited my daughter to 25 episodes but then I gave in to her request for an extension to 50 and then it just got out of hand!!! As for "How it's Made" my son has autism and they are really good shows for him educationally speaking.

Cheers,

Jumbo

So in summary the CCI bit has been changed for most content with the exception of premium channels and perhaps a few others where it was not possible at this time.

I want to use this another example of we do listen BUT you guys must understand that some requests have complex solutions that are sometimes bigger than us alone and that patience (and perhaps less venom) are in order especially when I ask for it...I need you to trust me I realize there are some that think that everything we do has evil motives behind it...just isn't the case and this IS one of those examples.

Anyway... enjoy! Tampa and outer markets will follow soon into the new year so you aren't being left out

I hope this is coming to the smaller markets, like Birmingham, too.

This might keep me sticking around with TV service after all....

What is nice is that the Tivo can now access a download on my PC showing all the metadata and then show it (using the Tivo interface) on my TV.

Doh. I just read Tampa and completely glazed over outer markets. Looking forward to it and dusting off my HD Home Run. Just in time for one of my old TiVos which I think is dying.

No, not on demand for TiVo. They have finally set the copy protection flag for most non-premium channels to off, meaning you can use the out-of-home streaming functionality, copy recordings to your computer, etc as well as use non-Windows Media Center software packages like MythTV

If it's such a big deal, why is it only considered a stocking stuffer?

Does this also allow you to compress the recordings?
