Bright House Networks - Legacy → Remote codes to turn off Vizio don't work

I have messed things up somehow.
I had a Vizio TV. Loved color and brightness but there were a couple of other issues. I bought a different TV and set remote TV button for it. Didn't like the color on it, so reinstalled the Vizio.

Now the issue. The TV button on the remote previously had been coded (to something) and it DID turn the Vizio on and off. Now however, I cannot enter any code that works. I tried all those in the list that came with the remote, all those that BHN tech support gave me and all that Visio support gave me. None will work. Yet it worked before!!

So, thought maybe I was entering them wrong and they were not 'taking.' Don't think so.

Press TV
Hold SETUP till 2 blinks
enter code (pointing away from tv)
get 2 blinks for success entering
Try it.

Nope.

Any ideas what is wrong? It is an E320-B2 model TV and 1056B03 remote.
Does it have a 'learn" mode?

Nevermind. It works now.

The problem was that it does not function when pointed directly at the TV...have to aim it slightly to the side.

And the code that worked was the first one in the guide sheet that came with the remote, which the BHN tech did not even have in her list!
