New House! New Setup! | | | | UPS, Time Machine Drive, Comcast EMTA, Surfboard Modem | Netgear Switches | Closet shot | Audio rack | The ManCave/Gameroom |
I just bought a new house of my own within the past few months and figured it was time to post some new pics. I wired Cat6 and Coax to every bedroom, plus the living and game rooms. There are also cameras placed around the exterior of the house for security. The DVR is in the cabinet under the TV. iMac: 27" Retina 4GHz i7 1TB SSD 24GB RAM 4GB Graphics PC: Dell XPS Windows 7 Ultimate 3.4Ghz i7 16GB RAM Radeon 7800 2GB 2TB Hybrid drive 2x 2TB Hard drives 4TB Hard drive Not Seen Retina MacBook Pro 15" 1TB SSD 2.8 GHz i7 (3.7 turbo) 2GB Nvidia graphics MacBook Pro 15" 500GB HD 3.2 GHz Core 2 Duo 2GB Graphics |

NICENICE... the only thing that makes me cringe is the cable spaghetti and gear hanging in midair. Don't know if that'll be cleaned up at a future date.

That closet is still a work in progress. I am still adding and adjusting cables in there. Once its completely done then I will be doing some better organization in there. |

I have a very similar desk. I've found the pipe insulation sold at Home Depot (near the water heaters) is great for wrapping cables. You can zip tie it to the rear support bar, and make everything look really clean, but cables are still easy to swap out. |

They look really nice, but ive been seeing a few shattered desks posted on reddit lately that scare me. |

Mine is 9 years old, and has spent its entire life holding 4 monitors and acting as my workbench. It has also survived 3 cross country moves in the back of a uhaul. But I have one of the higher end models with thick glass. I have no doubt the cheaper ones could be a problem. |

It has been through moving from Houston to Denton (Dallas), 2 different apartments in Denton and one house, back to Houston and sitting in storage for 9 months, and now to the house I own. It still is in great shape. |

It does. That, along with the wood flooring make it great for audio recording also. |
