AT LEAST tell me it's proof against someone taking a polaroid or JPG print of your face and unlocking your stuff... Anyone remember that Sierra's Space Quest 3 where you had to go into the bosses office and get a photo of him to open some secret room to the next level? [/okay, I just probably dated myself with that little tidbit] Regards |

Fortunately HELLFIRE didn't mention 8-track cassettes, vinyl records, wind-up phones and so on One can really date themselves with those. Oh wait... |

Also, what happens if I become horribly--or perhaps even slightly--disfigured? My desktop does not have a camera. I prefer to keep it this way. Going to truekey.com I see there's more to it than just facial recognition though. From the FAQ: quote: How secure is True Key?
Your data is locally encrypted with AES-256, one of the strongest grades of encryption available. Only you have access to it using things that are unique to you (your face, your fingerprint, a trusted device or a master password that is only known by you). The more factors you have and use, the stronger your True Key profile becomes. In addition, we provide multiple security controls so that users can decide how to configure True Key based on their needs.
It also looks like it may be able to turn your phone into a sort of pseudo-keycard ("Swipe your mobile device for added security") although I don't see any detail on how that works. Wifi? NFC? Bluetooth? So, jokes about facial recognition aside, this might actually be something interesting. |

Oh well now we'll not only cut off your hands to use on the finger print scanner, but your head too.
My Xbox One recognizes me and everyone else in my family so this is new how? Or is it just the scope of the application?

Yes. Finally. FaceHex! This may prove even more challenging for folks like these: » www.imdb.com/title/tt0075296/» www.imdb.com/title/tt0051077/» www.imdb.com/title/tt1189073/What, if any, info does Intel wind up with? |
