In related news I've seen a few TV ads from Intel promoting their digital photo technology (not this one).

Nah, it was writing "polaroid" that gave you away. Chemical image development, how quaint.

It also looks like it may be able to turn your phone into a sort of pseudo-keycard ("Swipe your mobile device for added security") although I don't see any detail on how that works. Wifi? NFC? Bluetooth?

So, jokes about facial recognition aside, this might actually be something interesting.
