Bothell is bad tonight and every night since about when power went out in canyon firs. My 15/5 drops to about 4/4 orless between about 8pm and 11the pm. Anybody else?
I just switched from a 20/5 plan (Verizon) to the Frontier equivalent, I've noticed my speeds -- which used to be close to 20 mbits -- is now 8 down, 4 up on the 30/5 plan. Literally the only thing that changed was my plan, no ONT replacement, nothing else.
Given the rest of the thread, I'm wondering if this is something deliberate on Frontier's side for the Lynnwood/Mountlake Terrace area.
I'm seeing about 5/9 in Remond on Frontier FiOS with a 25/15 plan.
I called them and they offered to send out a technician to check my wiring. I asked them to send the technician at 9:30 pm on a Saturday night which is the only time my wiring seems to have issues and when everyone is home watching Netflix.
Edit: Thanks or the tip on FCC complaint. I will definitely do that if this continues. Ridiculous.

They did not have a scripted answer and actually wrote my request down in the issue notes.
Speeds are back to normal for the time being. I'll check back next Saturday night.
It's extremely annoying that they won't provide any real visibility into their network and try to waste your time on illogical troubleshooting, all the while knowing that their own network is failing. Is there a site for sharing speed tests by geographic area? It would be useful to see individual, time and location stamped speed tests from the last 15 minutes rather than a monthly average.
I've been following the various 'slow on the eastside' threads for awhile. My latest IP doesn't forward resolve properly, so all my google stuff takes awhile for the dns lookup to timeout. I've had other IP addresses from Frontier with this problem before and having them release the IP and getting another that does have DNS setup properly helps with the dns timeout issue.
So I called tonight to add my name to list of us complaining about slow nighttime speeds and the helpdesk person said the IP was released but I got the same one again and she hung up!
I'm at the Bellevue/Redmond line near Bel-Red and NE 40th. I am having a lot of intermittent issues where bandwidth drops or requests time out for a few seconds. It's most noticeable watching youtube on a tablet. I am pretty sure it's not my wireless, I have the same issues on a setup that's connected via powerline. Right now (10:40 on a Friday night) speedtest is 11/6 on a 30/6 connection.
It's Saturday evening and Frontier is deathly slow, again.
I'm seeing 5/12 on a 25/10 plan, 115ms latency, 68ms jitter, according to speedtest.frontier.com. I use Google DNS servers.
For me, the slowness happens regularly at around 10pm on Saturday nights. Perhaps Frontier schedules maintenance at this time and brings down some local routers?
ku71 - I'm about 1 mile north of you. Are you seeing the same pattern?
Edit: A Frontier voice recording acknowledges that they are having a network issue in the Kirkland area. Last time phone support was unaware so this might be a baby step towards transparency. If this is a simple capacity issue caused by Saturday night Netflix viewing, then we may be stuck with this. Frontier is a rent-collector. They buy networks, keep them running, and avoid investing in improvements.
How did you get 25/25? Were you grandfathered in or did you ask for an exception? I'm on 25/10 but the billing summary also lists the terms "FIOS 25/25 Loop" and "FIOS 25/25 Port". Does this mean they can provide 25/25 but reduce the upload speed to lower costs?
Edit: nvm, I see that you were grandfathered in after reading your post from last year.
At least you have service. I'm in Kenmore and have zero service. 48 hours now. Frontier provides no explanation and no time/date estimate when service will be restored! I've been with them for years in different locations and this is the first time I've had this sort of outage.
Turns out the idiots at Frontier deleted my ONT when they transferred service. So it worked for a day, then they deleted it. All the reps assumed I was referring to the outage happening in the area and didn't both to look into my account. Crap customer service. The online Chat rep had enough sense to look deeper into my account, while the phone reps just assumed I was calling about the outage and not my lack of any service at all!
