Maybe we're nearing the end of the line as far as the "WE'RE OFFERING YOU FREE ANTIVIRUS IN THE HOPE YOU'LL DECIDE TO BUY IT" business model is concerned. I'm not at all sure that this is a bad thing. Separating the "users" (someone who at least makes an effort to learn how to use a computer) from the "losers" (those who can't or won't make the effort) is probably a good thing. Anybody who doesn't know by now how to avoid PUPs is just advertising their ignorance every time they complain about a problem.
