So will this be the beginning of the end of physical Television as we know it? If I can create a TV from my HoloLens out of thin air then there is no need for a physical TV anymore.
Whatever "holographic"device one uses can only have the resolution of the entire device. Creating a "tv" within the virtual environment can only use a subset of that resolution. In effect, unless the device resolution is way beyond what is possible now and in the near future whatever Tv it can create will be low res.
I'd hand on to those TV for a while longer if I were you.
They just showcased it on the live media event stream:
quote:It was a special moment this morning when we were able to share that Windows 10 is the worlds first holographic computing platform complete with a set of APIs that enable developers to create holographic experiences in the real world. With Windows 10, holograms are Windows universal apps and Windows universal apps can work as holograms, making it possible to place three-dimensional holograms in the world around you to communicate, create and explore in a manner that is far more personal and human.
That all depends on what version of Buck Rogers, the book, the radio show, or the television show is being referenced as to the age. I think it is cool, but I'll wait until the production model is reviewed before I spend my money.
Obviously the glasses aren't doing everything, no way you're doing CAD on the glasses processor, they are connected to a real computer somehow.
