I really don't think this is new

I don't think this is new. I think this is just more marketing buzz.

I believe T-Mobile has always had the most lax credit requirements to become a customer. I have a friend that filed for bankruptcy. Verizon wanted $1100 deposit. T-Mobile says yes we will take your money.

Now truthfully, I do believe they will limit the amount of phone lines you can have based on some credit rating. But I don't honestly believe any of this every impacted phone prices.

TMO became the UN-Carrier when it eliminated credit checks to become a customer. The smartest thing they could have done but the others don't care. Sprint will run the risk check on you and put you on a crazy spending limit program. Decide not to allow them to auto charge you pay $7 plus per month to have the "right" to have a Spent phone.
