[X1-X2] Can I have 2 DVR's with X1?

Just got x1. I have 1 DVR and 3 other boxes. Can I get another DVR and have 2 of them working at the same time? I want to stop my recordings from being deleted by other family members and figured if I had my own DVR they couldn't delete programs from it. Is that possible or is there any other way to get the same results?

Because X1 is a whole home DVR system, even if you get another DVR (which you can do), the recordings will be shared across DVRs.

The X1 DVR is a whole home product. Independent DVRs are not available with XFINITY on the X1 Entertainment Operating System.

Yes you can have two DVR's and seperate them from the rest of the boxes. All you need to do is put a moca filter on the back of the box you don't want family members deleting the recordings from. It will block the recordings from showing up on the other receivers
