Connection resets, usually multiple times in a row within 2-3 hours

For the last couple of weeks (at least) my modem has been resetting on its own, and it usually does it a few times in a row, but sometimes it'll do it every so often for a few hours. From what I remember, it's started to happen more often since the last time Rogers was doing maintenance, though that probably isn't related. There are also times when it won't completely reset, but it will cut me off for a 5-15 seconds a handful of times in a row. Sometimes it'll reset after a burst of those lag ones.

Normal operation:
Forward Path: Channel Frequency Power SNR BER Modulation
1 693.0 MHz 8.9 dBmV 36.2 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM
2 669.0 MHz 7.3 dBmV 37.8 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM
3 675.0 MHz 7.9 dBmV 37.1 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM
4 681.0 MHz 8.1 dBmV 35.9 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM
5 687.0 MHz 8.6 dBmV 38.9 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM
6 699.0 MHz 9.0 dBmV 37.9 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM
7 705.0 MHz 9.1 dBmV 36.5 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM
8 711.0 MHz 9.4 dBmV 37.0 dB 0.000 % 256 QAM

Return Path: Channel ID Frequency Power Modulation
6 30.6 MHz 41.8 dBmV 64 QAM
5 38.6 MHz 43.3 dBmV 64 QAM
7 23.7 MHz 41.8 dBmV 64 QAM
0 0.0 MHz 0.0 dBmV QPSK
I haven't checked while it's lagging, and I can't while it's resetting.

Now that I think about it, I think the line might be slowly degrading over a matter of hours until it finally starts coming to a disconnect. I'm going to keep a closer eye on the modem stats.

Edit: this might be interesting:
Forward Path: Channel Frequency Power SNR BER Modulation
1 693.0 MHz 10.6 dBmV 36.4 dB 0.004 % 256 QAM
2 669.0 MHz 9.3 dBmV 37.8 dB 0.005 % 256 QAM
3 675.0 MHz 9.9 dBmV 37.3 dB 0.005 % 256 QAM
4 681.0 MHz 10.1 dBmV 36.2 dB 0.005 % 256 QAM
5 687.0 MHz 10.6 dBmV 38.9 dB 0.005 % 256 QAM
6 699.0 MHz 10.8 dBmV 38.1 dB 0.004 % 256 QAM
7 705.0 MHz 10.7 dBmV 36.7 dB 0.004 % 256 QAM
8 711.0 MHz 10.9 dBmV 37.0 dB 0.004 % 256 QAM

Return Path: Channel ID Frequency Power Modulation
6 30.6 MHz 39.3 dBmV 64 QAM
5 38.6 MHz 39.8 dBmV 64 QAM
7 23.7 MHz 38.8 dBmV 64 QAM
0 0.0 MHz 0.0 dBmV QPSK
PS: I can't call in because Fedex sucks and I probably won't get my new phone for a few days.

Your levels in the second post show the downstream power level marginally too high. The BER is above zero which shows errors. BER should always be zero unless you just turned the modem on.

First ensure all splitters between the line coming into the house/unit are rogers supplied. Second, you could put a Rogers supplied splitter or attenuator on your line to lower the downstream power. A two way splitter or a 3-6 dB attenuator would work. You do not wanna increase the upstream power too much. If you do not have access to splitters, just book a rogers tech. They will come out and fix this problem.

There seem to be a rash of these "High Level" issues lately on Rogers being posted in here!

If you can't call, perhaps you could send an IM to rocca on here might get the ball rolling.

I've seen this a lot too. My neighbours have been having problems. Even in my house, I used to have levels of 0 down and 44 up. Now my levels are 13 down and 46 up. I've had 2 techs out and they say there is nothing they can do. When they put a 6db attenuator, the upstream goes out of range.

Why do you think the downstream levels are rising and is there something a tech can do? I asked the tech if they could get someone from maintenance when they read 19 on their meter before any splitters. He just laughed and said it was a good thing. I didn't think so considering my modem loses sync.

You know, I'm wondering if there's somebody higher up in Rogers who has decreed higher downstream levels as the goal instead of around 0 ... probably too many "my levels are too low" calls triggered such a change!

Now they're facing the opposite problem!
