That is interesting about the names.

In my experience with the "Memory Leak", is that the IPC boxes are not hardly affected by it, compared to the VMS. But IMO the IPC's were a bit.

It is largely the VMS boxes. Since they take the load of all other boxes connected too it.

Basically, I am asking all those who have received this update, to use their VMS as usual, but after a few days to a week, see if the boxes need to be rebooted or not. If they do not, than that Particular Bug is gone. IMO.

Re: [IMG] New Quantum IMG Build - 3.24.2 (1/26/15)

Oops, there is an orange. It's for children's shows -- 2014 no kids, so I almost never see it. lol

Can any of the users with the new release give feedback on the DVR fast-forward operation.

My Quantum Fios DVR (without new release) fast-forward operation slightly jumps ahead of where I release the FF action. In other words, when I'm watching a program and FF thru commercials (even on 2x speed) and release FF the split second the show returns, inevitably, I always have to Rewind a few seconds because the FF stops a few seconds further into the program than when I released it.

This is an annoyance of mine compared to how the DirecTV DVR worked for me.

Thanks!

It seems instantaneous.

(However for recorded shows I usually use the Skip Ahead button to bypass commercials, set to 30 seconds.)

Hole-
I just tried it as well. I did 2x FF - and watched the time at the bottom.

From my experiment - it even backed up 2 seconds each time I left off FF.

Example...it hit 58 seconds - I took my finger off - it backed up to 56.

30 second skip also seems to be pretty spot on.

I Agree. I have always used 30 sec skip forward, and 10 sec skip back. I love it.

Traditional FFW/REW I do not like. And only use them via VOD shows.

I wish it was possible to FFW through VOD at faster than 2X. Yesterday I was watched the first half hour of a 2-hour movie and hit pause. After 5 minutes the pause timed out and when I went to resume play it kicked me back to the beginning of the movie. It took almost 10 minutes to FFW through the first half hour of the movie.

It's not just Verizon who does that though. It's all companies. I have no idea why. Maybe the content providers mandate that.

In a dark room, like now, the IMG is definitely brighter with more contrast. Pretty close to the photo I took with my phone.

Now lets hope the rollout continues for the rest of us the next week or two.

That's ok really. We all knew they weren't giving us everything exactly the same as the legacy boxes with this update.

Potential Schedule?

OK, so the old schedule (pre-delay) was:

1/14 - VHOs 8, 15
1/22 - VHOs 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 (8 days after VHOs 8, 15)
1/27 - VHOs 5, 6, 7, 11, 14 (13 days after VHOs 8, 15)

So, if VHOs 8/15 got it on 1/26, assuming Verizon keeps the same format, we can logically assume the schedule is as follows.

1/26 - VHOs 8, 15
2/3 - VHOs 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 (8 days after VHOs 8, 15)
2/9 - VHOs 5, 6, 7, 11, 14 (14 days after VHOs 8, 15, as 2/8 is a Sunday, and Verizon doesn't normally do major IMG upgrades over weekends)

Please note: this is just my guess. I have no insider info with Verizon. And of course, with Verizon you can never really logically assume anything.

Logos

Well, just like that - multiple logos are missing again and the TV logo is there.

Seriously, how effing hard is it to map a logo to a channel ID?

Another bug to keep on the list for next time.

Ridiculous they can't fix some of these simple bugs. Unless they are focusing on the bigger bugs like the lag first. The logos and the dvr bug i would call minor. They are annoying for sure but there are other issues that are more important to fix first.

Re: Potential Schedule?

I guess time will tell either someone will be able to confirm the rollout will continue as originally planned or it will just happen next week if that is the plan.

Re: [IMG] New Quantum IMG Build - 3.24.2 (1/26/15)

I wonder if that white box is just something they didn't change in this build. Since the screenshots vzkid posted don't have the white boxes i would assume that will be changed in a later update. It was likely low on the list of changes they wanted to get out of the way for now.

But the release I just got has the white box. It is a good improvement.

Edit: sorry if I wasn't clear.

Oh i agree it looks better, i'm just thinking they just didn't make that change in this build. Hopefully they read this and will notice we like it better this way and keep it white and not make it like 1.9.7

But i believe the plan is to make it exactly like 1.9.7. They should change it on the legacy boxes too imo.

Just a question. What does the dvr recordings screen look like? I know it doesn't have stuff like box art etc but does it have the dark color scheme at least yet?
