[Connectivity] Zoom 5341J + NetgearWNDR4500 + Comcast

Hello All,
Based on the recommendation on this forum I bought the zoom 3.0 modem over Motorola a few months back. Since then I have had issues with the connectivity, many a times my phones, laptop and tablets show limited connectivity over WiFi.
Is anyone aware of any issues while using Zoom modem & Netgear router? I recommended the modem to a friend of mine and he too was having connection issues while using Comcast but a different router. In his case he was not able to connect to the internet even after connecting a LAN cable directly to the modem. He called support and will be getting a new device, I want to be sure that the issue is not in my network before calling Zoom support.
If there are any logs you guys would like to see let me know and I will will post it here. Currently the cable from the wall is split into two one going to the modem while other going to the cable box.

Thanks for your help in advance,
HI

Thanks for the reply back... Here are the stats that you are looking for. FYI between my first post and today I took the splitter out and now just have the co-axial cable running directly to the modem.. ideally would like to connect my cable box in but took it out just to make sure internet was working as expected.

Here are the stats that you are looking for.

Hey pende_tim,
Did you get a chance to review the modem stats?

The signal is great. The zoom 5341j is an excellent modem. Never had a problem with it myself. Have you considered it might be your router?

beat me to it. Yes the numbers look very good.

Is the Wi-Fi band crowded where you are trying to use it?

Try plugging the PC directly into the Modem witha cat5 cable and use it that way for a while. Just make sure that your firewall is "on" before you do this.

I do not think it is the router but I might be wrong. Let me know what stats you need from the router and I can send post it here.

I have my laptop plugged in like that right now but I do not see great download speeds either. How to turn on the "firewall" setting that you mentioned?

go to speedtest.comcast.net and run the test with a close server.

»windows.microsoft.com/en ··· indows-7

However if it is not already on, probably too late already..

The windows firewall is turned on I am pretty certain about this. I was not sure which firewall setting you were talking about hence asked the question. I will run the test once I get home and will post the results soon.
