Inspiron 17 5748 wifi upgradeMy mom has a Inspiron 17 (5748, Mid 2013), and it came with a rather pathetic single band, single stream wireless card (Dell 1705 I think).
The performance is absolutely pathetic if you move the laptop away from the room where the wireless access point is.
I have tried replacing the WiFi card with an Intel 6205 module I pulled out from my Lenovo laptop when I upgraded that to AC, the driver installs and it's detected but it will not start in device manager, I suspect it's a bios whitelist issue like I had with Lenovo.
What I need is a Dell Part Number for a dual band wifi card that will do 2x2 streams.
Any ideas? |

The card I tried is not AC, just an Intel 6205 dual band wireless N.
Its bios whitelist, because i dug up an older Dell 1502 card and it works, being a Dell part number, but its just as useless being the same single band single channel piece of crap. |
