Do you have an iPhone equivalent? I couldn't find that one for iOS. |

There isn't one that even comes close. Apple strictly controls access to the things that make this App so useful in the Android world...in other words they don't give access to anyone. I still check every once in a while hoping Apple will ease up but no dice so far. |

This is why I had to get a Android phone. Thanks for the tip it's working perfect.. Nothing like this for "I" stuff. At one time there was but Apple pulled it from what I understand. |

I found this on line.... "WiFi Analyzer and other wifi scanner apps for the iPhone were removed from the App Store in March, 2010 due to the use of private frameworks." BUT then also found this. That it might be back somewhat.. » community.arubanetworks. ··· p/203015 |

Hidden SSID's don't show up.
That method is lacking serious functionality. |

I suppose if your goal is snooping and hacking. I didn't get that was the was the OP's intent from their post. |

That method is lacking serious functionality. Exactly. WiFi Analyzer shows more information about each signal it finds. Use it all the time. Was helpful in finding out which one (turned out multiple) of my neighbors wifi units was stomping all over my wifi signal and finding a somewhat better channel to use. |

Sometimes it's valuable to know a little more than the system will tell you regarding wireless networks that your phone is seeing. That does not automatically mean hacking. |

»community.arubanetworks. ··· p/203015 Ya apple has API calls in the system that they don't tell the app devs about then if they get used apple pulls the apps. |

I have WiFi Overview as well, but one thing I don't like is you can't kill the app; it's always running. |

I'm talking about the app itself. If you try to Stop it, it just respawns. |

and no widgets setup? If you have one widget on any page including lock screen then it's going to run. Ensure in Application Settings that notifications is not checked.
Which version of Android are you running KK (4.4.x),JB (4.2.x-4.3.x), ICS (4.0.x-4.1.x) |

Because of the way Google reorganized permissions it may nut be apparent. In order to access radios it needs to know the state of phone. |

I don't have access to their code. The two programs aren't identical the one your beefing about has many features the lessor doesn't. My guess it has something to do with the lockscreen widget. |

Just pointing out there are some odd permissions requests for the app. As always, everyone is free to do as they please |

My phone is running 4.2.2.
So we're clear, what I'm talking about is the cached background process. You can try to Stop it but it just spawns a new one. Not a huge problem but I don't know why it thinks it needs to always be in the background. Seems the only way to really kill it is uninstall. |

Have you unchecked Notifications? Have you in it's settings unchecked automatic internet check?
If you place a widget on any screen or lockscreen it will run.
I don't have the problem you describe on my Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Tab 3 both running 4.4.2 |
