Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) 4.7.205

Today's Windows Updates include an update for MSE to bring it to v4.7.205.

If you prefer to download and install v4.7.205 manually you can get it from here

Check THIS ^^^^

The MSE app is now unavailable for XP, and a quick segue into trying to sell us a new PC.

But guess which Windoze it would have ?

The version which made so many of us keep our XP computers going !

BTW, I have MSE on my XP unit, and so far, so good (yes, I saw the asterisk'd fine print).

And has been since about a year ago. I run MSE 4.4.304 on XP machines. The definitions are still being updated.

Yes, I believe that is the version which I run there too, and possibly also on my Vista tower.

The fine print in my screen shot says def updates to stop this coming July 14th, tho.

Perhaps. I wonder if automatic updates will cease but manually installed updates will still work.

MSE (online) and WDO share the same defs.

Yes, I had discovered that commonality recently.

So unless they put a poison pill into future manual updates....
