[TV] began watching "Fortitude". am impressedFilmed in Iceland with a cast of English-speaking Europeans and Stanley Tucci. It would be a disservice to call it a murder mystery. Originally a Sky.com original series, you can find it in the U.S. on Pivot, which I didn't even know I had until unearthing it in a U-verse channel search. » www.sky.com/tv/show/fortitudeFor recaps the best source I've found is: » www.theguardian.com/tv-a ··· -episode |

Episodes available on Amazon Instant, Vudu, iTunes.
Also, via "alternative" means.
It's a great series. Beautifully filmed. |

It has a very slight 'Twin Peaks' vibe also. A little weird at times. |

Given the choice between Amazon at $19.99 for SD and putting up with (and fast forwarding through) commercials on Pivot in HD for free, well, you might imagine the choice I made.
What I can't imagine is living at that latitude. |

Yeah. Pivot. I've got my channel listing to hide the hundreds of channels I don't watch. Dunno when U-verse snuck this one in, but happening on an online review and a web search revealed Pivot was part of my household's HD lineup. Hopefully you'll discover it part of yours as well. |

said by sfogliatelle:well, you might imagine the voice I made. Donald Duck maybe? Don't get Pivot on Frontier FiOS but other means seem feasible... |

At the time, it was more like a Robin Williams' helium impression.
No. Seriously. The word intended sounded like voice. It has since been corrected. Good eye there, dc. |

Pivot,....yeah, I checked and I have the channel as part of my HD lineup. It's channel 552. On one system it comes in fine as part of my CableCard setup but the other system I have to manually add the channel through a setup process.
Anyway, there seems to be something like three or four episodes tonight so I setup recordings for them,...
I have Amazon Prime but I don't think its free with prime so I'm not paying for it,..... |

That could be because Sofie Gråbøl is one of the main characters in both the original "The Killing" as well as "Fortitude". |

Kinda makes me wonder why Stanley Tucci is doing in the show, you'd think he'd be above TV. Not just that but a DCI with the MET, and he's American? That's a stretch by any kind of imagination. 3 episodes in and I'm totally hooked though. |

Yeah, Fortitude was pretty good. |

That was the tipping point for the plot.
The writers have honed a really good question, what is waiting for us under the permafrost as global warming melts it? |
