Unions are mostly a waste of money for the unionized worker. How many union pension funds are currently in the red and insolvent?

abcnews.go.com/blogs/bus ··· by-2017/Paying union dues only to get shafted when it comes time to pay benefits is not a fun prospect. My father gets a union pension of $2,200 for 40 years of service in the same job. That's over $26,400 a year, for the next 20-30 years. That's $660,000 for 25 years. Multiply that by 12 million people, that's 7.92 trillion dollars, or 42% of the 2015 US Budget of $18.69 trillion.
