When in Youtube GREEN + sign Appears

Does anyone know what or why a green + sign appears when in Youtube in my search box?

"When a web page offers open search in Firefox 36.0, the magnifying glass icon in the search bar should indicate that using an overlay icon (the green plus symbol). You can now readily choose to add these to your list of alternate search engines."

Do you know if there is a way to disable this? It's pretty annoying.

A new (mis-)feature which has been identified as a bug before and fixed, and now reintroduced again.

I don't know yet how this can be helped. Utterly frustrating. I have right-clicked on the magnifying glass icon and removed the search box from the URL bar. Better now.

I don't see this. Perhaps because I went back to the old search behavior by setting browser.search.showOneOffButtons to false.

Yep that's it. I set that back to true and now I see the green plus at YouTube.
