I was visiting family this past week and they have Cox. look at this guide:
This is on a HD TV with HD STB. Only thing I liked is that for on demand, you could enter a channel number to go straight to one networks on demand. But then you had to wait up to 30 seconds for the program list to download.
Looks about as bad as Verizon's guide on the 6000 series boxes. What do you expect out of 10 year old hardware? Go do a Google Image search for Cox Contour, that's what they call their multi-room stuff. Not all that different from the Quantum guide.
That's what annoys me when people don't understand that the look and intuitiveness of the guide is extremely important just as much so as having accurate listing and the ability to record 6 shows at once. Aesthetics rules.

Some of us don't understand it since we never use the guide since we have a DVR.

You don't use the guide to record shows? How do you do that?

In other words, you use the guide like everyone else... smh.
No I search by title under search. I use TiVo so maybe that is the difference, but I never go into the actual guide. Does FiOS not have a way to set up recordings by just searching for the title?
For example on TiVo, I either use the iPad App or on the TiVo go to Find TV and then search Last M and pick Last Man on Earth HD and set a season pass. I never touch the guide.
That Cox menu reminds me of the one over at Blue Ridge Cable. If you never heard of Blue Ridge; they have more HD content then Verizon. But the menu stinks.
Where i used to live before time warner cable, we had adelphia digital cable which doesn't exist anymore and this guide looks exactly the same, and also looks like charters guide which is horrible. So im glad that fios guide is so much better.
