Updated Pale Moon. Ran it and got the same error. Ran it again in safe mode and it worked. Obviously it doesn't like one of my extensions.
Did the same with Fx and it works in safe mode. |

Yes that error was logged for me too, NoScript was not allowing the main site and the 2 x IP addresses required for the test to run. Once the permissions were allowed all went well.

If people try it now with noscript on, at least it gives a better error rather than a vague one so thank you for that feedback. |

Running the test in either Firefox or Chrome I get a download speed of around 50-60% of my actual download speed. I can easily see the real download speed by downloading some large files from good servers. Looks like the test is trying to use a server in Ohio, so that may be the issue. Running the test in IE 11 on Windows 7 Pro, it keeps running over and over again until eventually a popup appears: quote: This browser got stuck trying to complete the test transfers
I also see the following message at the bottom of the page: quote: This speed test requires IE10+ or any other recent browser, you appear to be using IE9 or less (sadface)

I did "allow scripts globally" before running the test on firefox.
Firefox: 35.5ms ping, 15.3 down, 1.85 up; chromium: 36ms ping, 15.3 down, 1.87 up; rekonq: 51.5 ms ping, 6.2 down. 1.81 up.
I think it doesn't like "rekonq". (I repeated the rekonq test with similar results).
Note that this is on linux (opensuse 13.2). |

Re: SpeedtestIn your case it seems like it did not ramp up the file size. If you'd like to run it again some time, I'll check if it no longer makes that mistake. thanks for the feedback on IE11, that only shows if your browser user agent is set to MSIE 9 or below. Are you running in compatibility mode or something? |

I don't normally use IE, but I'm not aware of using any kind of compatibility mode. At » www.whatismybrowser.com/ ··· -sending I see the following: There were 7 headers sent: Accept text/html, application/xhtml+xml, */* Accept-Language en-US User-Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko Accept-Encoding gzip, deflate Host www.whatismybrowser.com DNT 1 Connection Keep-Alive |

Just to confirm, if you go to the page with IE11 and hit shift-reload, the yellow warning about IE9 is still appearing? |

Nope. It's working now. It's also no longer repeating. Still reporting only about 60-70% of actual speed, but the other issues are fixed. |
