Re: FYI: for general feedback on the new speedtestSeems to work OK, but, since every speed test gives a different result, I don't know what the true numbers are to compare this test to. |

said by Bill_MI:Just a thought... can you establish scripts for ALL potential servers? Then the first NoScript allow-all-this-page would be done with it. there are no scripts for servers. One script, contacts multiple servers. If "no script" jumps in and blocks the first one, that's game over, until you reload the page, and try again. I'm definitely not going to write something special that tries to talk to all possible servers regardless of all the errors, just so no-script has a full menu. As it stands, it just isn't very suitable for this particular application. It should have a one click "disable for page" option. Or does it? if so, why not use that. |

Tested from Cogeco 30/10 connection. Test indicated exactly that, a match to speedtest.net.
I had to temporarily allow access to IP addresses due to NoScript. Other than that, there was no hassle. |

Well, hmm, XP .. Have you any other browsers to try. Try setting the "number of streams" to "1" in the preferences. What about any extensions or AV scanners. |

said by jl747:I am getting the following error » [Cable Speed test: 53.35/12.34 19 ms]yes, the error is correct. Your firefox is struggling. The result may or may not be correct but it should not stall like it is. What are you PC specs? laptop? pc? how much memory. Do you have any anti-virus or other security/privacy products that might be tangling with firefox? Have you got chrome or IE11 to try to see if no errors are given? |

To emphasize the validity of multi-server and how they tend to fill in a line's saturation limit - I set all 5 servers outside the USA and got the same results. Of course, this slower 15/2 helps with this.
BTW, all results say "3 streams" regardless how many are used - I'm sure it's known. |

D/L 59.1 megabit/s Not really, anti-virus products are sometimes a pain. it is trying to scan random binary data and slowing things down. Even though scanning 40mbit is hardly a huge amount per second for a modern cpu to look at. |

I didn't notice, thanks for pointing it out, the results should now pickup the actual streams used if you over-ride the number, it is rolling back through old results so retrospectively it will also be right. |

Very accurate for me. My ISP gives me 60/30 "Fiber" I got 59.2 / 29.5 using my IP adress I always use a VPN ""Private Interent Access"" and I got 55/27 . When i use » www.speedtest.net/ I always get slow speeds, even though I know im getting faster speeds. HTML good. |

My test results here: » [DSL Speed test: 1.09/0.25 22 ms]The Okla speedtest are similar: » www.speedtest.net/my-res ··· 52153504Frontier speedtest are also similar: Download Speed: 1122 kbps (140.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 153 kbps (19.1 KB/sec transfer rate) Latency: 25 ms 3/30/2015, 9:21:54 AM I can say that these test results are much better than they would have been slightly over a month ago. Frontier's speedtest are now consistent with others, previously I would get results that often said I had three times the speed than I was provisioned for. So they are also making progress. It is easy to use and the information is valuable. |
