Evansville Indiana Upgrade has made a mess of my Digital TVMy TV was working fine until today. I turned it on and I could not get any channels. I did a new scan and now I can only get 20 viewable lower channels which are scattered all over my set. I have a lot of numbers that don't get anything but a black screen. I can get viewable channels on the lower viewable channels and on numbers like 17.1, 17.2 etc.
After my scan setup it says I have 315 digital channels and 10 Analog channels but I don't see them. All I see is a lot of black screens.
My set is a Magnavox 37MF321D. Its a nice TV and don't want to get rid of it. What can be done about this?
Thank you, |

I have a Sony and a Sharp, both scanned and found 10 analog and 90 digital. I wish I had a better answer for you other than to scan again. |

I did a second much smaller TV and had the it did ok with the 10 analog & 90 digital channels.
So what is the problem with my larger set? It worked before the upgrade. It was manufactured in 2006 and it has the required Quad tuner. I don't want to use the smaller TV all the time. |

I'm in a different market.
We get very few channels in the clear (just locals, I think). Rest are encoded and require a WOW cable box, WOW DVR, or 3rd party device with a WOW cable card installed to watch.
This is done so WOW can 'turn off' channels that are not actively being watched on your node (neighborhood, apt building, etc). Those now unused channels are now available for internet data, VOD and the like. It's a much more efficient use of the limited bandwidth of the network. The drawback is TV's do not have a means to alert the WOW hardware what channels are active.
[edit] Just reread you post and note that your smaller tv works. So the above explanation doesn't apply...yet. But that day is coming. What's likely happened is this upgrade was from QAM64 to QAM256 and the TV tuner doesn't support the higher modulation standard. |

It is a Magnavox 32MF321D. It is the larger set that I am having trouble with. So is it the fact that the Quad Tuner is not up to date? What is the cheapest fix?
Any suggestions? |

The cheapest quick fix is to go over to their office on Wedeking Ave and get a DTA adapter for that TV. They'll charge you a few bucks a month though. |

Do you know what is causing the problem is?
Would a DTA adapter would put all channels on 3 or 4? Are you talking about the old WOW DTA adapters that they used for Analog TV's? Would I use Antenna scan or Cable scan with a DTA adabpter?
Thank you, |

The reason am having this issue is that the Tuner is out of Date? What type of tuner is in this TV?
Thank you,

How would I connect and use an Analog Box to a Digital TV? Would I scan it for Cable or Antenna once it is connected? Thank you, |

I have not tryed a software upgrade. I was looking at my WOW bill and I think I am going to drop WOW cable so I don't think I will need to solve this problem. My TV works good over the air. |
