Re: [FiOS] New speed tiersBack to topic, please. Thread is about Frontier's new speed tiers. |

I'm a TX VZ FIOS user and am optimistically hoping that Frontier realizes it will have to build out a new backbone to support this additional user base.
Who knows, this acquisition might inspire them to become a large Tier 2 provider, if not Tier 1... some day. |

Frontier once had a backbone prior to it being acquired by Global Crossings which then split Frontier from its backbone which it was building out for the future. In 1999, the company acquired Frontier Corporation, the former Rochester Telephone Corporation, and renamed it Global Crossing North America, Inc. It sold its local telephone operations and the Frontier name in 2001 to Citizens Communications, which renamed itself Frontier Communications in 2008.» en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gl ··· y_growth |

Supposedly, according to FTR reps, it launches tomorrow. Here are the tiers (assuming autopay):
50/50: $59.99 75/75: $69.99 100/100: $79.99 |

Nice pricing -- what are the non-autopay rates, do you know? |

Is there any word on a 150/150 tier or a 300/300 tier. If Frontier want me as a customer release a 300/300 tier but without a insane price like Verizon. |

If anyone has heard if there are going to be any changes to the Business pricing/tiers before tomorrow, that would be great. Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Kermee |

They told me the same thing, and yes it's just a profile change. It should flow thru the system and get upgraded without a truck roll. I'm keeping an eye on my order as it goes thru the system.
No, 300/300 plan. |

It make sense that 500/50 and 1000/100 gets a upload increase when the lower plan is currently getting a upload increase. |

Speed tiers in the Marysville area:
50/50 would be $64.99 75/75 FOR $75. 100/100 for $85 150/150 for $125. |
|
SirChaos |
Was also told that 150 requires a truck roll, but they are waiving the charges for it |

They just called me back to confirm I need a truck roll but I don't need to be at home. and the price he quoted me was wrong for 100/100. It's $79.99 after the $5 discount for autopay. |

said by SirChaos:Was also told that 150 requires a truck roll, but they are waiving the charges for it Sorry, let me clarify. They require a "Full Install with inside access" - They are indeed waiving the installation charges for it. Will have to be present for the install. Soonest they could do it is the 11th of April |

These are the same prices I was was just quoted for the Everett area (non-autopay or POTS). No truck roll was needed for my loop. Pricing seems very fair for a truly symmetrical service. I also saved $5 a month by upgrading from the older 100/15 service. |

You're mostly likely being switched over to GPON equipment since BPON only support up to 100Mbps. |
