Thanks as always for the announcements, dp See Profile but I'm going to chime in here, again and remind that the IE Restricted Sites Zone is rendered to a non default setting on every run of the software.

Hi Silj,
I know that you have posted that warning before. My question though is:
Could you tell us exactly what it changes? I mean the exact changes.
I am not sure whether this thread is appropriate for that discussion though; I have to leave that decision to the mods.

I do know what the changes are. They are non IE defaults. Suitable for an IE Expert who is comfortable with advanced IE settings but not every-day users. Ask javacool See Profile

Just to understand you right:
You are saying that you do know the changes, but are not posting the details.

Nope - The details are too detailed to discuss here. These are default settings that are known to the developer, which I am not one of. See them for support.

This is a long - known bug with the software and they are fully aware.

Well, you are posting here in this thread that SpywareBlaster is making changes to the IE settings (besides adding killbits and putting sites into the IE restricted zone). I am not saying that you are right or wrong. But one would expect that you will give all the details of it to prove it and to inform others about it. Just saying "I do know what the changes are" is not enough. When you say A, you have to say B.
Whether it is all too detailed to discuss here, is up to the mods.

Re: SpywareBlaster Database Update - March 30, 2015

here is javacool's response to the question about the "custom settings" for IE's "restricted sites" zone:

"If you're referring to the Internet Explorer Restricted Sites zone, this is by design.

Although IE just displays the zone security level as "Custom", SpywareBlaster actually sets it to a more secure level than the default of "High" (by tightening the restrictions on a few additional settings).

So even though it says Custom, it's actually more secure than the default"

the "custom settings" are nothing to worry about..

if one was concerned about the settings for the "restricted sites" zone, you could manually go through the settings and adjust them for maximum security..

Thank you! Always believed one purpose of SWB was to change IE's default settings; it's nice to know I was correct.

I skimmed through the IE Restricted Zone settings on my Win 7x64 IE 11 system and found that at least this one setting changed after opening Spyware Blaster.

"Drag and drop or copy and paste files" - High (Default) setting is "Prompt"

"Drag and drop or copy and paste files" - after executing spywareblaster.exe setting is "Disable"

I did not see that any other settings were changed but that is just from a manual comparison check using an old pair of eyes.
