Excellent as well. Consistently get 130/11 on 100/10 package. CGNM AC wireless radio is also great.

I also get 130/11. However, I have my CGN3-ACR in bridge mode as I'm using a Netgear R7000 router instead.

Getting around the same speeds.

But disappointed with the ping from the Hitron CGN3-ACR modem.

I think I'm still affected by the ping from the modem even though I'm using bridge mode with a good Asus Router AC56u

DOCSIS has enough latency as it is... this Hitron modem just adds to the pain...

unless it gets fixed, i may have to jump back to DSL or TPIA with better modem options

Hitron is aware of the problem and has been asked by Rogers to expedite a solution. This also affects the modem used by Shaw. Note that this appears to be an underlying code issue for which Hitron is not is not responsible for developing. I've asked for additional details regarding the issue and when that becomes available I will post a link to it.

How do you ping the modem when you are in bridge mode? Pinging 192.168.100.1?

RogCust2561

Yes that the one.

The problem exist for the older Hitron Gateways since 2014. I wonder how much longer or if they are ever going to fix the problem.

Yes, when in gateway mode pings to the CGN3 at 192.168.1.1 (or whatever you set it at) were way slower than they should be.

But it isn't clear to me that this affects performance through to the internet when you are in bridge mode. Do you have some test results to show that this is the case - for example pinging www.rogers.com from a Hitron modem and another modem and getting significantly better results? Or Traceroutes that show this?

Maybe pinging 192.168.100.1 is slow but does that mean that the device is slow when acting purely as a modem?

»CGNM-2250 Problems (CGNM-2250 VS DPC3825)

Fryst did some excellent tests that demonstrate this behaviour. Albeit, not a crazy difference, just not great to see on a top-tier connection. Especially when the culprit is a device being shoved down your throat.

Interesting. I am not trying to defend Rogers but what do you lose by the 5ms or so higher ping times? I imagine gaming could be an issue but I don't play online games.

There is no excuse for it in this day and age.

You do realize 130/10 is speedboosted on the download right?

I don't believe it is. AFAIK Rogers over-provisions the tiers by roughly 30%.

Speedboost is temporary overprovisioning.

Only if you would READ what others say, it would be nice.

Rogers bumps the speed (constant) to all of their customer, and its not temporary.

This was discussed many times, but, since you are on start, you can't feel it.

No, it is not a temporary boost like Speedboost.

He's likely on DSL from the way he is talking. I'm on Rogers and very dissatisfied. Thankfully, Bell is green lighting fibre in my area in the next week and I'll be on 175/175 over a modern technology.
