I.P. Address

Is there any way to get Rogers to give up an I.P. address?

Will ICANN or any other organizations be able to help?

I have a static I.P. from Rogers, and if I do not want to be serviced
by Rogers anymore, how do I keep the I.P. address?

That IP address is Rogers property if you mean you just rented a static IP through their connections. You just leased it.

Unless you mean it was your IP address and you were just using Rogers for IP transit. I also see you're posting from an Atria Networks IP. Did you lease a block?

I've never heard of individual IP's being handed over from one network to another.

You'd likely have to purchase a block from them, which they most likely wont do.

IP's are not like phone numbers, they can not be "ported".

Sure, make Rogers an offer they cannot refuse and one that your organization can afford.

Now if you decide to make an offer make sure that you do it through the correct channels -- not through a CSR.
