Program Problems in Std AcctWe're trying to replace some old PCs in the plant with new Mac minis. We have the minis configured with an Admin account and a Standard User account that has everything turned off by the manufacturing program needed to run. We have one other program we're trying to install that is also needed. We've installed it under the Admin account, but when we try to run it in the Standard account, we get an error that the program isn't authorized. We've enabled it under the Parental Controls. We've also tried entering the Admin user name and password and telling the system to allow it to run always. We're not having any luck. Any ideas?
Also, could we create a second Admin account, but put in the same restrictions we have on the standard account? Obviously, a user with a little bit of knowledge would know how to get around that since it's an admin account. Would it work to configure this admin account to auto logon, but not tell anyone the password? That would keep them from making changes. |
