Upgrade to 75/75 and get a free Quantum Router

According to verizon.com/75plusgateway, FiOS users with less than 75/75 can upgrade to 75/75 for an additional $10 per month and get a free Quantum gateway.

One user posted on the Verizon forums that they couldn't get the deal when they tried to sign up, so YMMV.

Enjoy.

I have 25/25 and the answer was "No", but not until I had spent fifteen minutes trying to follow the instruction to "Proceed to the Upgrade and Renewal Center to complete your order" and another twenty-five minutes chatting with Edwin.

Verbatim transcript of chat:

Chat Subject:I currently have Verizon residential services
Your Question:While signed in, I go to »www.verizon.com/home/MLP ··· m75.html and click "Upgrade Now". A modal window opens, saying, "Thank you for your interest in FiOS Quantum.Proceed to the Upgrade and Renewal Center to complete your order." There is no link and no sign or reference to any Upgrade...
Thank you for your patience, An eSales chat expert will be with you shortly.

Edwin(23:26:32): Thank you for the permission and being a valued Verizon customer, Andrew! I'll be glad to assist you and answer your questions. I'll ask you a few questions to assist you better as we proceed.
Edwin(23:27:07): If I understand you correctly, you wish to upgrade to 'FiOS Quantum Internet 75/75 Mbps', correct?
Andrew J. Caines(23:27:07): 76/75 + Quantum gateway + 1st month free for +$10/mo. offer
Andrew J. Caines(23:27:41): I wish to look at the detail of the offer as applies to my current service
Andrew J. Caines(23:29:03): Currently I have 25/25 for $54.99/mo. so I want to see $64.99/mo. for 75/75
Edwin(23:29:28): Sure, let me assist you with the steps to check if this offer is available on your account. Please click on "Add/Upgrade My Services" tab at the left side of your Verizon account page and let me know once you are on the next page.
Andrew J. Caines(23:30:14): Looking for that
Andrew J. Caines(23:31:29): I'm not finding the page with that tab on the left. Which page under "My Verizon" is it?
Andrew J. Caines(23:32:45): I found a "Add/Upgrade Services" red button on the right on the My SERVICES page
Edwin(23:33:10): Great! Please click on it and let me know once you are on the next page.
Andrew J. Caines(23:33:19): Two modal windows later I'm on that page
Andrew J. Caines(23:34:18): I see the yellow backgound tablet offer, This is What YOU HAVE section, What We RECOMMEND section and CreateYOUR OWN BUNDLE.
Edwin(23:34:48): Yes, you are on the correct page.
Edwin(23:35:23): Please scroll down to "Create Your Own Bundle" section and select 'FiOS Quantum Internet 75/75 Mbps' under 'Internet' section.
Andrew J. Caines(23:35:47): I see "FiOS Quantum Internet Download and upload speeds up to 75/75 Mbps" +$25
Edwin(23:37:02): The price that you see is the price difference from the pre-selected plan and not the final price.
Andrew J. Caines(23:38:02): The pre-selected plan is 50/50 and is $10/mo. more
Edwin(23:38:12): Once the plans is selected, please click on "Add to cart" under "Create Your Own Bundle." We will be able to check the final price, router offer etc on the 'Review Order' page before making any changes or submitting the order.
Andrew J. Caines(23:38:22): So the 75/75 is $30/mo. more, not $10
Andrew J. Caines(23:38:58): 75/75 added to cart
Andrew J. Caines(23:39:22): (I meant $35/mo. more above)
Edwin(23:39:52): Please click on 'Checkout' button so that we can check the final discounted price on the 'Review Order' page. Please be assured, the order will not be placed now.
Andrew J. Caines(23:39:57): Clicked
Andrew J. Caines(23:40:50): I'm on the "Order Summary for Your Selections Product & Promotional Pricing" page. $89.99/mo. and no free month and free Quantum router mentioned
Edwin(23:41:55): May I know if 'FiOS Quantum Gateway' - Fee waived is mentioned in the cart as you scroll down the page?
Andrew J. Caines(23:42:36): "Quantum Gateway" appears nowhere on this page
Edwin(23:44:46): Thank you for sharing. It seems that this offer is not applicable for your account. However, I would request you call our Consumer Sales and Solutions Center at 1-800 VERIZON (1-800-837-4966) and check with our account specialists.
Andrew J. Caines(23:46:17): That is most disappointing. It would seem more appropriate to tell the customer that immediately after they sign on and agree to have their account details retrieved from the offer page
Andrew J. Caines(23:47:01): In face even when logged in I see the big banner ad for this offer at the top of the "Services" page
Edwin(23:47:31): I apologize for any inconvenience caused. However, may I know if you have received any special e-mail for this special offer?
Andrew J. Caines(23:47:43): I have not
Edwin(23:49:24): Customers usually receive an e-mail for any special offer available to their account. However, I would request you call our Consumer Sales and Solutions Center at 1-800 VERIZON (1-800-837-4966) and double-check with our account specialists.
Edwin(23:49:29): Thank you for your time and patience. Do you have any more questions for me? I will be happy to answer all your questions.
Andrew J. Caines(23:49:47): No more questions. Thanks for trying.
Edwin(23:50:22): It was my pleasure assisting you today. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Thank you for choosing Verizon. Have a good night.

A few months ago I upgraded from 25/25 to 75/75 and got a free Quantum router (no additional monthly charge). See my previous posts.

How much more (if any) to go from 25/25 to 75/75 and for how long? That would be interesting, because they upgraded me from 25 to 50 (new promo) and then 75 at no cost for 2 years, so it would be understand their pricing levers.

$10 from 25/25 to 50/50 then $10 from 50/50 to 75/75

So, $20 from 25/25 to 75/75

I wonder if they would give this to you if just subscribed about a month ago and rent the quantum router. I only have 25/25 but would switch to 75/75 if they will give mt the router for free now.

I was able to get the 75/75 upgrade from 50/50 plus a free Quantum Gateway, but I think the offer was available because I don't have a long term agreement currently. The upgrade included a 24 month term.

I was able to get the free Quantum Gateway on one of my accounts without signing a new contract, just retained my current agreement.

I just looked online and saw the offer to go from 25/25 to 50/50. Followed the link and ordered. The confirmation email does not mention the router. I do have a screen shot of the offer. Did anyone receive an order confirmation for the router after ordering?

I received a letter in the mail with that exact offer. I have 50/50 already with a 24 month (14 months to go) contract. I wonder if this will affect my contract at all or is it just a straight upgrade with remainder of contract.

I tried online, but no offer of the router upgrade. It did ask for a coupon code. Anyone care to pm it to me...I tossed the flyer in the shred pile.

Well my order processed with no mention of the router. I called to ask about the offer. The rep told me since I already had a Rev I, I would not get a new router. When I asked why I was offered a new router, she said "marketing" didn't know what router I had when the offer is made. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me she was an "account manager". I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Fortunately, I'v been dealing with VZ and predecessors for almost 50 years and made a screenshot of the offer.

Re: Upgrade to 75/75 and get a free Quantum Router

Well, this gets more interesting. I have not heard back from the Executive team (just left a voicemail). I posted on the VZ forum, and was joined by the OP. I posted that today I received the same offer with (potentially fraudulent?) in it. They edited out that phase without indication of their editing. I then posted a comment saying that my subjective characterization of the offer, with qualifier was deleted without reference in my post. That comment was deleted, and I have been banned.

Since their support forum serves no real purpose, and the people and service here on the direct forum are so much better, it isn't really a loss. In over 25 years on Usenet and forum participation, it is the first time I have even received a warning.

Apparently Verizon loves me since they offered me 75/75 with the free router *and* a free year of HBO for +$10 a month from my 50/50. 3 days later I got virtually the same letter but it didn't offer HBO

Someone called me back. She insists that the offer was for the Rev I (in VZ parlance), their "advanced" router. I pointed out that since VZ knows what router I have (they keep telling me), I could assume, using a plain language standard, that would be the new version, and alternatively, that new, in the same piece describing 50/50 as Quantum would be their new Quantum router. She offered to sell it to me for $200. She further insisted that the 75/75 would also receive the "advanced" router, not the gateway, already refuted in the immediately preceding post.

I have told them I will, in accordance with the TOS, pursue this to arbitration.

We'll see what comes next.

When I go through the motions of upgrading to 75/75 with the FiOS app on my iPhone I am offered a free Quantum Gateway Router as you can see in the screenshot. That offer does NOT show up if I go through exactly the same process logging into my account online with a computer...which is why I don't trust what I see on my phone.

I'm an employee. Here is how it works. If you have a non quantum speed...less then 50/50 and have a rev f or less router and upgrade to 50/50 you get a rev I router. If you have less the 50/50 and upgrade to 75/75 you get a quantum gateway router. If you have 50/50 already and upgrade to 75/75 you don't get a quantum gateway router.

In all markets? VZ is really good at having different prices and programs depending on where you live. And as you've shown, depending on what you already have.

OK, but I presently have 50/50 with a rev I and the FiOS app shows a free QGR included with an upgrade to 75/75...and that's after it "looks up" my current bundle information.

Honestly, I don't have a problem if that is what VZ wants to do. But an offer presented should not say get a NEW router (emphasis added) if there are restrictions. VZ is good with fine print, so there should be some that says the upgrade is to a rev I, if needed for speeds below 75/75 and a gateway above that. The offer is false and misleading since they have a document with conditions not disclosed to the customer before or during the order. All I really want is them to honor what said, and change their practices going forward. I don't think that is unreasonable.

I have 50/50 with a Rev F. The free gateway offer does show up online with the 75/75 upgrade, so if I try to sign up I won't get any router?

What I was told by Rowena (sp?) was that you should get an AT/Rev I (in VZ parlance "advanced"), although others above are reporting getting the gateway. It seems that everything is dependent on who you get, the phase of the moon and the luck of the draw, YMMV. If you decide to try, I would suggest getting whatever you are told in writing. If you want, I can PM the name and email of the person I'm dealing with on their "executive team" and tell her, based on this thread, you want it in writing.

I have a REV I Actiontec and 25/25 Triple play service. I am still under contract for another 18+ months. If I upgrade to 75/75 will I get a Quantum Gateway router? Will my contract be extended another 6 months?

How is Verizon determining what router you have? What if you bought your own Rev. I and you're using that? That was the case on one of my accounts, with which I had 50/50 and upgrading the 75/75 got me a Quantum Gateway. This is in Staten Island, New York.

We can see what router is attachéd to your account.

You better check your bill and make sure you weren't charged the full prce for it or are paying the rental fee for it
