This has been an issue for at least a couple months. I've dealt with it thinking it was upgrade issue but this is just ridiculous. Nobody is doing anything on my network but me. My connection is an SB6182 to a Linksys EA3500 then to PC and other devices. Daytime is great, and while I understand traffic times, there is no way I should be dropping down to a crawl. I am on Preferred package. I have removed router for testing and it does go up, but still only at half of what I should be getting. Looking at time stamps will help identify times I did tests. As you can see, night time is horrible. Wasn't always like this. What makes it worse is if just one person is using Netflix (WiFi), my PC internet use (hardwired) is like being on 56K dialup.
So ... is this just something I have to expect anymore? This is getting ridiculous now. I actually had a download stop. I wish I could get what I pay for.
Come morning time everything is all good. Come 5-6pm my internet almost goes away. How can this happen still after all these upgrades.
I'm done rebooting things. It doesn't work. The other day a sub-contractor for COX was up on the pole outside my door. not sure what they were doing. It wasn't for me as I never called. Few years back, COX installed new coax from the pole all the way inside (drilled hole) my house. That single line goes right to my modem. Irrelevant though as my speeds are great during the day. Could someone be using up the entire streets bandwidth?
It's sad that my Mother, who lives in the local mountains, gets better service than I do.
Im in Lemon Grove off Massachusetts Here is a test I just did which is what I should expect. I will post another one in a few hours to show the decline.
