Most likely within a few weeks.. to a month. Its probably an orange cable right? In my area all the drops are aerial so I'm not really sure

Edit: Most likely some subcontractors will bury the line. Don't bother doing it yourself.

There is no reason for that.. He should call customer service and tell them his drop still hasn't been buried. Unless its an aerial cable that fell down?

It varies from system to system and depended on what the technician had on his truck. Many temporary drops are orange so as to be more visible and some are black. If the drop had to be dug up again an orange jacketed coax would be easier to see. The main reason for it being orange is for safety sake.
